My First Green Toys are manufactured and assembled in California from 100% post-consumer milk jugs, and contains no BPA, phthalates or PVC. This is part of a new line of safe products for younger kids. These blocks are safe for babies as young as 6 months, but are also fun for older children. Set includes 18 pieces: 8 single blocks, 4 half blocks, 2 double blocks, 2 double bridges, and 2 triangle blocks.

Customer Reviews

They do not stay stuck together very well.
Sacha
The blocks are large (with the smallest block being about the size of a man's wallet) which is good for small hands who have not developed fine motor skills yet.
New Mom
The colors must vary since my colors are not the same as the picture shown.

These are easy to hold but too large to fit in the mouth. Smooth with no corners or sharp edges. Best of all if you step on one they don't hurt your feet or break. Dishwasher safe and easy to sanitize. I expect these blocks to hold up to more then one kid and would be good for a day care or preschool. They seem to grow with your kids so they will hold interest from about 6 months to at least 4 years if not 6 for those who like to stack and build towers. While they don't snap together when stacked the bumps align and keep them together fairly well while still keeping them easy to handle for the one year old set. They will hold up to heavy chewers too, although some of the worst might make a dent or two.

Considering the safety issues and the quality these blocks are a great value too.

i am a big fan of green toys! if your child is over 1, buy two sets so there are a good number of blocks to build with. under 1 years old, one set will be suitable for the gnawing, throwing, clicking, banging, etc...that children will do.

these block DO attach together and you CAN build towers with them. the variety of different shaped blocks is good. and i ordered two sets and received two different color sets.

the colors aren't harsh like most baby toys, they aren't made in china, and they are a green product. i would much rather my child play with these than some chemical ridden, made in china set of blocks that will probably be recalled soon.

I bought these blocks for my 15 months old son. I choose these blocks over the other blocks available on the market because they are green and safe, which I feel is very important, especially in blocks who tend to be played a lot with.

So I really was excited when they arrived! The blocks have the perfect size and have nice colours, also there is enough variety in the shapes.

HOWEVER my big problem with them is that they don't stay together, if you put one block on top of the other they are not attached to each other in any way so they just fall off with the mildest push. So building anything is impossible.
Another problem is that you have to put the smaller blocks on top of the big blocks, the other way around doesn't work. So for example, you can't put 3 small blocks next to each other and than put a bigger block on top (it doesn't attach, you can't lift it).

So, these blocks work for small babies who like pushing things over and seeing things fall but if you are looking for blocks to build with, skip these (wish I had).

Like other reviewers have said, two sets will give you more blocks to play with...I'd personally love FOUR but I'm an adult and these are for my daughter. She loves them and my husband and I enjoy them too! ;) The fact that they don't 'link' together like duplos or other blocks makes them more age-appropriate. As an educator, I know that this age loves to build as much as they like to tear down and these blocks allow them to do just that.
Green toys makes highly durable, safe, quality, USA made, ecofriendly products and this is just another one we've added to our toy bin.

Glad to see the use of recycled materials. I also understand the concept of not having them snap tightly together so little babies can put them together and take them apart. However, these just don't snap together at all. The base is just too flexible and needs more rigidity. I would rate them above just slightly above average due to recycled and he does like to smack them down when I build it, but they are hard to build anything other than just a straight up stack due to flexibility.

I like the idea of the toy... recycled material, and it's a good message to pass onto our kids. But the kids don't lie if they like them as "toys" or not. Well, my son loves any blocks EXCEPT these blocks. He has played with it few times, only out of his curiosity. These blocks are put aside, and he goes back to other blocks. If he doesn't like it, it only take up room in his toy boxes, so I had to get rid of them. Despite the eco-friendliness promised at the beginning, if the toy doesn't work as a good toy, it will be a trash... Good green toys should be fun for the kids, so they will keep using them over and over!! Like some other reviewers, the blocks does not stack up well either. And it is bit too bulky for toddler's tiny hands. The blocks that doesn't stack up well can only frustrate kids who loves building blocks. BAD DESIGN. I encourage the maker of these blocks to re-design the blocks so it will be fun blocks that the kids can use for a very long time, and pass it to younger kids... Now that's true recycling!! We also had fire engine and a blue car from the same company. Our son didn't also like the fire engine (not much to play with), but he liked the blue car.

PRO:
- Recycled material and recyclable
- Durable

CON:
- Not fun for the kids (Not repeated use)
- Does not stack well, so they don't use them often.
- Too bulky for toddler's hands

These don't hold together too well, but the colors are nice and are easy to grasp and throw, easy for mom to wash!
