Menefee Humate is an all natural organic chelator and microbial stimulator. It is a humic acid based soil conditioner. The humic acid in this product helps the plant to be able to take up nutrients that were previously locked in the soil. Humate is the biodegraded and extremely compressed remains of ancient flora and fauna. Humates are mainly used as soil ammendments and used in many organic fertilizer products. Humate needs to be used with other fertilizers. Humate makes an excellent fertilizer supplement by making those nutrients in the fertilizer work faster and more efficiently with the plant life. Humates enhance the development of root systems by feeding the existing mycorrhizae on the roots of the plant. Through many different plant and soil tests, Universities have found that the best humates are mined from fresh water deposits usually found in New Mexico. These materials contain fresh water diatoms and have a very low salt content. The humic acid level of fresh water deposits is also very consistent. Humates provide a full line of different organic acids that plants need to grow and thrive. The acids are organic chelators which make fertilizers, both chemical and organic, more effective and useful. The acids increase the cation exchange capacity of the soil, which helps energy and nutrients travel throughout the plant.
