5.0 out of 5 stars Really Works Against Skin Issues In Dogs!, April 23, 2011
This review is from: GreenTree Septiderm-V Skin Care Bath (16 oz.) (Misc.)
Our dog has always had issues with extremely dry, itchy skin since he was a pup. Especially on his bottom. He would chew and chew until he made himself bleed and using other shampoos only dried him out even more. Once I saw this shampoo at a PetCo, I paid a fortune for it (Because it's Petco, and everything is expensive) but this is the only one that actually worked for our poor baby. We used it in combination with an all-natural flea shampoo (Apply the flea shampoo first wait five minutes then rinse it off and apply the GreenTree shampoo second, wait five minutes and then rinse) and Frontline Plus because he has a flea allergy, and his skin looks SO much better after baths. Moreover, it STAYS that way for about a week which is how often he needs to be flea bathed again anyway. I'm not big on reviewing products but if this shampoo helps someone else's baby with the same problems then it's worth it to write this.

Anyone who is having flea issues, I strongly recommend Doc Ackerman's natural flea shampoo. Really hard to find but that stuff is AMAZING. Kills fleas nearly instantly and you actually see them falling off your dog by the dozens in the bath tub. But what's amazing is there are virtually NO MAJOR CHEMICALS involved, because it's natural so the smell is wonderful compared to some flea shampoos I've used. This one is perfect for animals with dry skin issues. I use Frontline to help keep them off. So far, I've only been able to find Doc Ackerman's on the website OnlyNaturalPetStore.

Anyhow, that's my recipe for relief and my poor baby is back to spending normal amounts of time itching himself versus nearly all day and crying about it. Five stars for this Shampoo. I've gotten smarter about it though and began ordering it online where it's not almost $15 a bottle. Happy bathing!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked for my allergy plagued dog, January 29, 2012
This review is from: GreenTree Septiderm-V Skin Care Bath (16 oz.) (Misc.)
My dog has pretty severe allergies that cause most of his fur to fall out and he wears a cone everyday. He gets a staph infection that covers most of his body and I can smell it throughout the house. I've used this shampoo in the past and remember that it seemed to work very well for him. Recently, I've been using prescription shampoos, Keta-Chlor, Hexadine, Zymox(the zymox ear drops are the best thing on the planet) shampoos and rinses, etc. After a day, he smells yeasty or like an infection again. I remembered I had the Septiderm under the sink and tried it out of desperation. I kept the shampoo on him for 10 minutes and rinsed. After a week, he has not developed the smell and the scaly, greasy, flakes have nearly disappeared. They will probably come back since this has been ongoing for 5 years but hands down this has been the most effective shampoo yet.
