Absolutely the worst!,

This review is from: GreenWashBall Dryer Balls, 2 Pack - DB1 (Kitchen)
We have used dryer balls for the past 2 years and have been happy with the results.
The original pair wore out, so we bought these from GAMMA DISCOUNT. When we opened the package the smell nearly knocked us down. They smelled like 10 day old cat urine. There's no way we're putting that into our expensive dryer along with a load of clothes. We'd never get rid of the smell. They seem to be hard, too, and that's going to make a lot of noise. I asked for a refund from GAMMA DISCOUNT without sending them back since the shipping was more than they were worth. After 2 days, GAMMA DISCOUNT responded as follows: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sorry for your inconvenience. Every dryer balls make bad smell at first use. The smell appear at first time. When you wash with soap, it will be gone. You may return it the address below if you don't want. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, I have news. The last pair we had did not smell at all, so they're just wrong. I'm already out nearly $13 and I'm not going to spend another $5 to send them back. Beware these guys and this product. Buy something else. Both are poorly executed.

We use 6 of these balls in our dryer and they work okay - Bounce works better.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly,
I bought six of these balls about a year ago. I did get a good deal for the six of them. I paid about $15 for them. I liked the idea of not using chemicals in my dryer. They worked great for our large loads and I could adjust the number of balls I used for smaller loads. Our clothes were still soft, but the towels were about 75% as soft as before. I figured no big deal. I was saving money in the long run seeing as how we have anywhere from 10-15 loads a week. That adds up to a lot of fabric softener(estimating cheap softener at $4 a bottle per month -- $48.00). Well, somewhere along the line one disappeared. Probably with all those missing socks. Still I was content. Noisy? Yes, but closing the laundry room door took care of that problem. Still content. So far so good. Then comes this week. One of the balls split apart into two pieces. Down to four a few days ago. Okay, kind of disappointed at that. Next thing I know, two more of the other balls follow suit. I have one good one left. Luckily I still had about a third of a bottle of softener on hand to use. Here's where it gets interesting. We recently planted some calla lilies along our front walk. Our dryer vent is about two feet above one of the lilies. I realized we should move the plant, but haven't gotten around to it yet. When I was using the dryer balls the lily was affected a bit by the air, but not too badly. Once I started using fabric softener the thing really started looking bad. I have to ask myself if there is a correlation here or not. Are the chemicals harmful to the plant? The other lilies are fine. Hmmm. I stated in my review several months ago that I would never go back to softener. I saved the two year warranty info, so I'm going to check into how to get these replaced. If they last another year that's about $100 in savings, plus no chemical issues. So, in spite of the bad and the ugly, I'm still convinced that the good makes these a better way of softening clothes.

Don't buy,

These are noisy, one has split in half, and they don't reduce the static. I needed to replace my old ones that have mysteriously disappeared along with some of my socks. These are terrible and I can't find ones like the original ones that really worked to soften my clothes and reduce static.

loud dryer balls,

Not my favorite, they make way too much noise in the dryer verses ones I have tried in the past, my mistake was I ordered 8 of them. I gave them to good will.
