The L.I. battery goes and goes! Gnaws through wood like a gas saw, its' clearly the wave of the future. I gave it four stars instead of five because it is a little heavy. Again, the battery will outlast my 67 year old arms.

Works well for me and seems to be quite powerful. Yes, it is a little on the heavy side but not as heavy as the 20V model that it replaced. Just remember to keep the little oil tank full. I find it is very easy to clean and dismantle. Chain tension after a few uses is important too and it's very easy to adjust. The rechargeable 24V battery lasts a long time-much longer then the 18V Greenworks batteries I use on my other lawn tools. Overall, I'm very happy with it!

It does what I need it to do. The battery lasts a long time. Remember it is not a commercial unit

I haven't had much of a chance to use it yet but it seems like what I expected--a versatile tool worth its price. It appears to be well made. Others have noted the need to retighten the chain soon after using it and I agree. I'm sure the slack will go away after some more use. One note: The picture of where to find the chain tensioning screw in the directions (Fig. 18) is totally wrong. It is the screw on the front, under the blade. If you take the cover off (easy to do) you can see how it works--the screw moves a pin back and forth moving the bar in or out to loosen or tighten the chain. It is not a lightweight tool so you'll want to use it in the shorter length if possible by removing the extension pole. Compared to a gas chain saw the chain does not move as fast so it doesn't cut as fast, you can sort of feel the blades making each cut but it does the job, just don't expect it to be the same as a gas chain saw. I haven't used it enough yet to know much about the life of the battery but I've decided I won't own any more rechargeable tools unless they have lithium batteries, which this does. Compared to cheaper Ni-Cds they charge quicker, hold more of a charge in use and also when not in use, and the charge doesn't taper down as much in use.
