He Maketh Me to Lie Down...,
By
This review is from: In Greene Pastures (Shelton Heights Series, Book 1) (Paperback)
Author Kendra Norman Bellamy has penned an intriguing novel filled with mystery, romance and forgiveness. Reverend BT Tides allegedly met an untimely death due to a fatal car crash that left him burned beyond recognition. This famed preacher, who started his church in the living room of his project home, was notable and grew in fame as his love for serving God and His people grew. The Reverend's faithfulness and service found him in a place to pastor New Hope, the church he founded.
Letters from congregation members, as well as from the community, poured into the only newspaper that was allowed exclusive reporting for the funeral, The Atlanta Weekly Chronicles. Hunter Greene, owner of the newspaper, decided after four weeks to discontinue the letters and allow the family time to begin to heal after the tragedy of losing their loved one. That is until he received a letter mailed to his home from Jade Tides, the only daughter of Reverend Tides. Jade insisted that he continue to run the letters because God showed her something concerning her father's death that would be revealed in the letters. Faced with this dilemma, Hunter met with Jade and reconnected with her from their old project days. Together they faced what would soon become a problem in the community because of these letters, even the threat of Hunter losing his newspaper, the trust of his best friend, and his good reputation in the community and Georgia at large, would not stop them from pursuing their mission. On the other hand, Jade had to endure reactions from her mother and brother once they learned of her involvement in the situation, and she was forced to turn to the most unlikely person in her life: her brother Jerome, who has spent 10 years in prison. Through it all, Hunter and Jade came to know that God keeps His promises. In the midst of trouble or anything else that can upset what we consider, God still provides, protects, and delivers. Life lessons were learned from those less likely to be an example, a new level of trust in God realized, and the understanding that taking a stand is more than doing it for self. I recommend this book for those who are going through a trying time in their lives so that they can see the love of God and experience the true meaning of Psalm 23. Reviewed by Sharel E. Christian Fiction... Done the Right Way!!!!! Go Girl..............,
By Jackie M "jaibeem" (Jacksonville, Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In Greene Pastures (Shelton Heights Series, Book 1) (Paperback)
I picked up this novel and started reading thinking that it wasn't going to be all that good because it was starting off so suspenseful, oh my!!!! How wrong was I. This novel has all that is needed with not too much of the un-necessarities that alot of descriptive Christian Fiction displays. Anyway you have your suspense, romance, humor and reality along with the Presence of God. Thoroughly an enjoyable, page-turner, with the ability and desires of a series. The characters are so in tuned and real and you get caught up in the scenes as if they are playing out in front of you. This is my first read of this author, but I am hooked, if all her novels are written with this same intensity, She has acquired one more avid fan. Go get this now, what you waiting for??? Take my word for it, you won't be disappointed.

This book really shows off this author's versatility. My book club has read other novels by Kendra Norman-Bellamy and we are reading this one this month. Most of the members received the books on the first of the month and were done in a couple of days. We've been calling one another and talking about the book over the phone because we can't even wait until our March 17th meeting. The common denominator that we all agree on is that this book kept us glued to the pages. The intrigue was amazing. There were times during the story that my heart was pounding. And the ending....OMG! I didn't expect it at all but it couldn't have had a better ending. If you like drama, romance, mystery and Christian fiction, you will love this book. I can't wait for the sequel.

Just when you think you know an author, they throw you a curve. KNB has done just that with her latest novel. The well respected pastor of New Hope Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia has died in what is believed to be a car accident. To honor him, Hunter Green, publisher and founder of Atlanta Weekly Chronicales has been running weekly articles in the pastor's honor. When Hunter decides to stop running the articles, he receives a letter from the pastor's daughter, Jade, asking him to continue with the articles. She believes that her father has been murdered.
This is a story that only KNB could tell wiht passion and style. She introduces strong male characters, flawed male, mental illness, romance, pain, Christianity and mystery. She also brings you themes such as forgiveness, rightousness, without appearing too preachy. She also shows that within the church there is sometimes misunderstanding. This is the first in a series of for KNB and if it is anyting like the Grace Series it is sure to be a winner. Congratulations on another wonderful story!! Peace and Blessings!!

Awesome Story!,

"In Greene Pastures" by Kendra Norman Bellamy may sound like a very peaceful, and predictable book by its title, but this is truly one book that cannot be judged by the title alone. This is the first installment in the "Shelton Heights" series. The main character, Hunter Greene, is the owner of a very lucrative newspaper in Atlanta. The recent events involving a local pastor of a very prominent church take over the headlines. Hunter's paper covers the story very well, but not well enough for Jade Tides.
Jade is the daughter of the pastor, and she is convinced that there is way more to the story involving her father than meets the eye. The trouble is -- she really needs Hunter's help in finding out who is responsible for the tragic events concerning her father. Will he help her? What will it cost Hunter? Will the legend and mystery of Shelton Heights prevail? This story had a nice mixture of mystery, drama and romance. It is definitely a good read regardless of the type of book or genre the reader prefers! Review: 4 out of 5 Beignets Reviewed by: Sherrie Books And Beignets (BAB) Book Club

Hunter Greene's world is turned upside down when the story breaks that one of Atlanta's prominent pastors, B.T. Tides is killed in a fiery automobile accident. What's worse is when the pastor's daughter, Jade Tides insists her father's accident was indeed murder and she needs Hunter's newspaper to catch the killer. What she's planned could mean the end to the paper Hunter spent his adult life building. Is it worth losing the respect of the community he loves and his livelihood for a woman he's just met and is starting to have feelings for?
Kendra Norman Bellamy has delivered another page turner with In Greene Pastures (Shelton Heights) . But this time, she's added a murder mystery to the mix! I always enjoy reading her books with her real characters and interesting plot twists. I always know I'm in for a great read when I pick up one of her books. If you want a mystery to solve and a romance to love, this is the book for you.

A Letter to My Sisters: The Way Out
This was a refreshing breeze after the last few books I have read under the genre of "Christian". There is no sex, violence or profanity. This proves to me that a good story-line with believable characters and some mystery can sell a book. It is definitely a romantic novel. It doesn't reflect today's society, but it is idealistic in an inviting way when you want to get off the beaten track of literature masquerading under the title of "urban". Hats off to you lady Bellamy.

This book was well written and the characters were very believeable. I liked the idea of the choices that the main characters had to make. Particularly since the choices could easily be rationalized. Choosing between good and bad is easy, but the shades of gray is what this book is about.
