Great Anchor!,
After loosing a fluke anchor to the bottom of a lake and being disappointed with a mushroom style anchor, I tried this anchor. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this anchor performs. I have a 20 foot ski boat and this anchor holds it in high winds and a barrage of boat wakes. It's also pretty easy to dislodge this anchor when it becomes stuck on an object below. The slip-ring really works. My other boating friends always comment on how well my boat stays on the hook. I also play out plenty of rode and use 6' of heavy chain.

Good except in strong current with sand bottom,

After a few months of ownership, I've been reasonably impressed with my Richter anchor. On Labor Day, along with dozens of other boats, I attempted to anchor in the channel between Robinson Island and the Caribe resort in Orange Beach, AL just west of the Perdido Bridge. The current there is quite strong and the bottom is all sand. Even with a 4 foot chain installed, the Richter anchor would not hold my 19' Sea Ray bow rider in place. I even tried standing on and shifting my weight back and forth on the anchor in an attempt to bury it further in the sand but that didn't help. In similar current conditions on a muddy bottomed river it held fine but if you find yourself above a sandy bottom you may have the same problem I had.

Held the boat in place on Lake of Ozarks with various bottoms. Anchor sets and comes off the bottom very easy. I have a 5ft chain attached to the anchor so the rope won't get cut on anything. I used to have a mushroom and and a grappling anchor but this one beats them both. Its a bit pricey but I think its worth the investment if you are a serious fishermen or a boat owner.
