Having moderate experience in gardening, no experience in greenhouse gardening, but unlimited desire to learn, Ortho's Greenhouses was a treasure of information. I learned enough to decide if this was an endeavor I had the resources for, and was able to have an intelligent conversation with my contractor about building a greenhouse. The book is thorough in all aspects of greenhouse considerations from initial plans to continuing expenses. A great investment!

Great book with lots of great pictures. Covers all types of greenhouses, materials for building them, pre-fab kits, accessories, watering ideas, air circulation, and more. With all the pics, you can get great ideas about how you want yours to look.

As I find true with most of the "Ortho" books, this one is pretty impressive. It is not very big but they have a knack for getting a lot of info into a small amount of real estate. It doesn't tell you everything there is to know about greenhouses and greenhouse growing, but if you are looking for a book to get you started that won't take six months to read (or figure out!), this is the book you need.
