Perfect (but PRICEY) Pill Pockets,
This review is from: Greenies Pill Pockets, Chicken, 3.2 oz, for Tablets (Misc.)
For those picky dogs that don't want to take pills, this is the solution. I tried to hide my dog's pills peanut butter, cheese, and cold cuts, none of which worked. I purchased both the roasted duck, which is for allergies, and chicken flavored pockets and tried out both of the sizes (pockets for tablets and capsules) as well. My dog much preferred the chicken flavor. I preferred the pill pockets in the capsule size. This is because these pockets are larger. Even though the tablet sized pockets are large enough for any tablet, the capsule size allow me to get twice as many pill pockets for my money. I split them in two and can still fit a tablet inside each half*... just a TIP for those wanting to save a bit of $

I don't believe these were authentic Greenie's pill pockets!,
This review is from: Greenies Pill Pockets, Chicken, 3.2 oz, for Tablets (Misc.)
The Greenie's pill pockets I purchased through Amazon are NOT like the bags I've been buying from my local store and veterinarians. This bag contained product that was slippery, crumbly and they are not pliable like original Greenie's! The texture of these pockets is totally different from original Greenie's PP and they could NOT be squeezed around a pill - the product breaks apart. I know the difference because I've been using real Greenie's for month's to hide medicine from my 13 year old dog. I will NOT purchase this product from Amazon again as I believe they are are knockoffs. Who knows what's in them, and with recent information about poisonings I'm not taking a chance with MY dogs! I'll pay the extra dollar and get them from my local vet.

I have been using these for a long time. This was a great deal. Price was much better than any place locally.

Pill pockets are the best thing ever, and buying them through Amazon is the best value for your money. It is the only way my dog will take his vitamin every day.

I have to admit, I was skeptical of these to begin with. Our dog is a master of avoiding medication. We've tried shoving pills down her throat, we've tried squirting liquid medication into her mouth, we've tried hiding pills in her food, we've even tried grinding tablets or opening caplets and mixing the powder with her food. She's always able to avoid it. Even when we mix it with her food, she'll refuse to eat for days. These things actually work though. I highly recommend the smaller size, because the larger size requires a bit of chewing, and so our dog was able to remove one of the pills once. Even 29/30 is pretty good. The small ones are perfect though - 60/60 and counting. Even if the pill is slightly too big, you can just mold the treat around it so it can't be immediately detected. I wish I had found these years ago...

Pugs are pretty notorious for refusing to take their pills (or being able to eat around them then spit out the pill when you're not looking). These work to make them want to take their pills. Pill time has become the equivalent to treat time. So easy. Only negative is that it can get a bit expensive.

My dog has to take about 5-6 pills per day...pill pockets are one of the only ways I can get him to take the pills. I wish I came up with this idea. Super quick shipping, also!

These are AMAZING! I have a very slippery and sneaky cat who needed medication before a trip. I stuck the little tablet inside the snack, put two down on the floor, and she ate them both. No stress, no drama, no cleaning up medicine from the floor. I will be keeping these on hand, and recommending them to everyone I know. If your kitty is hard to medicate, you should definitely try these.

I've had great success using the pill pockets with my dog. I've always used the tablet size before, but on a whim bought the capsule version (same price). The capsule pill pockets are so large, you can easily split them in in half (even if you're trying to hide capsule-sized pills). If you have tablet pills, I'd bet you could use one capsule-size pill pocket for every 3-4 pills. I will not waste money again on the tablet version of this product! Hope this helps others.

amazing product!!,

my poor cat was diagnosed with a serious virus infection, now he has to apply eye drops+ointment and also orally taking 1 pill everyday. It was a nightmare since he wouldn't even lick the pill! I tried everything!!!! Mix the pill with his favorite treat; grind it into power and mix with wet food~ didn't work at all!
got this product 3 days after he started the medication, he loved the pocket and swallowed the pill with it without any problem since then. If your cat loves seafood and this is the product you can give them when taking capsules. Worth to try! |
