I bought this 2 years ago for a summer house with landscaping stone I had no desire to dig out to plant a garden. It was easy to put together, fill up and grow.

I bought a second set the following year and gave one box to my elderly dad who has had gardens for years, but the digging and mainteance in the ground was getting too much for him. He liked it so much that he agreed to us buying him another set for Christmas, which is quite surprising because he is very frugal and would usually never spend money on something he could do himself.

As for durability, I had a completely different experience than previous user. My summer house is in Toms River, NJ, and my neighborhood was under 5 feet of water after Hurricane Sandy. I had heavy benches blown over, deck boxes float across the property, multiple items such as storage boxes end up in my yard that did not belong to anybody in the immediate area...but yet aside from some debris landing inside them, my garden boxes stayed in just about perfect form!

I only took a star away because I feel like they could be a little deeper. Other than that, they are great!

I love the idea of an easy to put together raised garden bed made of composite materials, which should last a long time. But, its supposed longevity is one of it's huge flaws. After using this box for one season, I wanted to move it over a little bit, and the whole thing fell apart. I had several boards break off inside the corner connecters, and every single board was horribly warped! So, I ended up having to throw it away, it wasn't even partially salvageable!
I suppose I should let you know that it was very easy to put together in the beginning, even though a hammer is required to get some of the corners to fit together properly. (Some of the corners are loose, and others are tight). But, I could look beyond that, as our garden spot was level, and it didn't affect the performance. However, I can't look beyond the fact that I paid almost $70 for a raised garden box that only lasted me one season. Very disappointed in the performance of this product.....

I became hooked on raised beds when we bought our current house. We live in the city, so yard space is at a premium, and these beds allow us to use our space more efficiently. We get the best worlds of hydroponics(efficiency) and a normal garden(taste, ease and cost).

We bought this particular bed to stack on our 3 yr old bed that we had purchased from sams club of the same company. We had no issues with the beds matching up size wise, but there was a slight difference in color. After about 30 days, we were no longer able to tell the difference.

The box did arrive rather beat up, and the stacking clips that we had received in previous boxes of this kit were not to be found. We emailed the company and were able to get replacements delivered for free, so it just shows that this company is willing to provide service to their customers.

Excellent product and high quality. We have two of them and I just bought a third, and take note that the Amazon price on this item fluctuates WILDLY. My wife bought one set for $50 in March, then I paid more than $80 in June and then on August 14, 2014 I paid less than $40! All of these were bought from Amazon directly and not some 3rd party "fulfilled by" Amazon seller. So pick your price carefully. Yes, the boards will warp a little. This has no effect on the structural integrity of the product. Also, there is no bottom to it because there isn't suppose to be a bottom to it. Raised beds are suppose to be bottomless. The brown color of the product is uniform and will not flake or peel - it's part of the material used to make the product. Assembly is a piece of cake. There are no instructions included because a chimpanzee could figure out how to put it together. You get seven identical side boards to make up the sides and center (2 boards for each of the long exterior sides, 1 board for each of the short exterior sides, and 1 board for the center), 4 identical corner connector pieces, and 2 identical side/center board connector pieces.

Highly recommended. The package is indeed very heavy. We have Amazon Prime and so we have gotten free 2 day shipping on each of these that we've ordered. I cannot imagine how much it costs to ship something so big and so heavy so fast, but that's not our problem!

I am only going to address the installation of this item as we set it up at the end of the gardening season. For the reviews that speak to the "warping", I cannot tell you.

This items is pretty bare bones in terms of parts. You have the basic walls and then the parts that connect the walls. You do don't have to screw anything together - just place the supports and slide in the walls. Pretty basic. This is as opposed to building a solid 4x8 frame that you can pick up in one piece.

So what I figured out pretty fast was that wherever the unit was to reside, you need to assemble it there. With that being the case, you need to prepare the area as you see fit. In our case, it was next to our existing little 4x8 plot, so all we did was cut the grass, lay in the 4x8 weed barrier cloth and assembled the unit on top of that. There were other things we will do later (chicken wire fence and such). The next step will be to add mulch, dirt and fertilizer. Now we are waiting until planting season next year. It is our hope that will be primed at that time.

Bottom Line: it is a very "functional" item. The plastic wood is fine to see and not offensive. Sure, there are far better cedar units that cost twice or three times the price. For the occasional gardener in a backyard setting, this takes care of many issues at an affordable price point.

As far as the "warping" issue that has been posted in other reviews, I cannot speak to that. Maybe next year I will have experience or not have experienced that.
