The Garfield is the largest model that Greenleaf makes, and is surely one of the most impressive dollhouses to be found anywhere. Nathaniel Hawthorne hadn't seen when he wrote his classic The House Of The 7 Gables, but indeed the mansion has 7 peaks as well as a full wrap-around porch, 2 balconies, and 2 bay windows. You'll find easy access to the 10 large rooms, in addition to the corner opening there is a removable roof section and a lift-off turret atop the secret tower chamber. With its wonderful gingerbread trim and lovely detail, the Garfield is magnificent! Shingles are not included. Measurements: Kit: 24" x 33" x 4-1/4", assembled size: 40" x 41-1/2" x 29-1/2". Made in USA.

Obviously The project isn't complete a month after purchase - this is an extremely large dolls house, and a long term project that requires a moderate level of ability and a great deal of patience.
The dolls house is made of wood, so it is heavy - 52 pounds in fact! However, it is laser cut, requiring only that you carefully extract the pre-cut pieces from the slabs of wood, then sand to get a neat fit. Time consuming and exacting, but then, that's what miniatures are about!
The Greenleaf website offers a construction blog, but it is currently not available, at least when I've tried. However, there are a number of blogs from other owners, who detail how they have created their dolls house, some of which are truly amazing. I have noticed that several blogs comment that the written instructions are less than detailed, but I'm not far enough along yet to find that a problem.
If you're looking for a long term project that requires a number of skills - yours, or your friends - then the Garfield Manor dolls house is perfect. But I've already found that dolls houses, and their furnishings, become something of an addiction, so be careful what you start!

Great kit.... all parts pre-cut... instructions are the only weak point. Greenhouse could do a much better job with the instructions...
