This is the hardest bend for a new electrician to learn. It is such a small amount of bend and if your box has two conduits coming out of it they better look the same. If they don't than your work doesn't look professional and if it doesn't look professional than you won't get called back for more work. Lets face it we do this for the money and we love doing it. I recantly started my own company. Yes my guys can bend a box offset, but time is money in this business and the faster they can get a job done the more profit I make. Yes the work look every professional too. If you had the best conduit bender in the world and 10 sticks of 1/2" emt and 10 of 3/4" emt it would take him at least 10 to 15 minutes to put an offset bend on each piece, and that being nice with the time. Someone with an offset bender could do all 20 pieces in under 2 minutes. That is how you save time.

Anyone installing a lot of 1/2" EMT should have one of these. I bolted mine to a small piece of 3/4" plywood. You insert the conduit. Compress the handle. Smile.

I purchased this for one job with a bunch of offset that all needed to match. It worked nice, they all looked uniformed when finished and the time savings was significant.

I would not used it for day to day bending on one offset, but if you are going to be ding a bunch of them it is worth using.

The Good:
Easy, fast consistent offsets in the shortest section of pipe.

The Bad:
(or at least things to be aware of)
A full throw of the handle creates an offset that is larger than most standard boxes. I just put a line on the side of the handle that showed me the stop point for the box I had. Without a full throw of the handle the offset is a little open, but once installed it was hard to notice and the fact that all the bends match made this a non issue.

The little kicker has been around for a long time and justifiably so. They are will made and will last for a very long time. They are not terribly complex and do the only task they are designed for, over and over and over, very well. One nice addition is that the handle now has a flare on the end of the grip so your hand doesn't tend to slip down like on the older version.

Purchased this bender for use on a project that required several box offsets. One person was tasked to do nothing but box offsets with this bender and it worked great. There are no markings on the bender itself so trial and error is the best way to figure out just how far to push the handle to get the bend you want. Once you got it figured out, it's just repetition.

I'm an electrical contractor and have used my last Greenlee offset bender for over ten years before one of the bolts came loose and we lost it. Thousands of offsets, every one perfect. Nothing looks better on a job than having all of your offsets match. Buying a replacement was a no-brainer ( I may qualify for that anyway!). Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

This bender works great. Saves time and bends a perfect offset everytime. Is says it bends different bends but that just means dont pull the handle down as far.
