This is a pretty cool diorama containing two 1/64 sized (standard Matchbox car size) vehicles from the classic Blues Brothers movie. In recent times Greelight also released the Blues Mobile from earlier in the film without the speaker on the roof, as well as Dodge Monaco Chicago Policein single blister packs with Blues Brothers imagery on the blister pack. I've been waiting for those two to appear in my local stores but it doesn't look like they will, however I was surprised to come across this one. In this you get the Blues Mobile with the speaker as well as a state police car. Johnny Lighting years earlier also released the Blues Mobile without speaker on roof, so being that the Chicago police car and Blues Mobile by Greenlight both have the exact same packaging, you may wish to collect the Johnny Lightning Blues simply to have different packaging. Its blister pack is also themed with movie imagery.
In regards to this diorama it's a pretty good one. The advantage over this kind of thing to the blister packaged cars is that you can take the cars out of the packaging to touch or photograph better without damaging the box simply by snipping the tape and opening it up. Both police cars are on a bit of cardboard painted to resemble a road, the background photograph is blurred for reasons I can't fathom. That's pretty much my only criticism of the way this is displayed. The ex police car Blue Mobile doesn't have the rope attached to its bullbar like the one in the movie attaching the speaker to the roof. It does however have a bullbar so you could probably make the rope and attach it yourself if you were so inclined. Both cars are of course metal, the state police car's roof lights are red plastic, and the speaker is made of plastic. If you (or a child) were to carry the car by the speaker it would probably detach pretty quickly. The Blues Mobile is also painted on the sides to look dirty, although by only doing the sides and not the bonnet, boot and roof as well it doesn't look as authentic. The wheels are also clean but the tyres are rubber. It does kind of look like the bonnets should open but they don't. Both are pretty solid and durable cars (except for the speaker attachment on the roof).
