don't buy this light bulb if you want dimmable!,
This review is from: Greenlite 35008 15W/ELR30/DIM DIMMABLE 15W R30 3000K (Misc.)
i've been looking for compact fluorescent bulbs to replace all of the incandescent bulbs that i currently have. when i saw these i thought that it would be perfect. i have 10 dimmable 60 watt r30 type bulbs in my family room and that's what the website says these are the equivalent of. so i ordered 10. put them in. they looked a bit weird because they are about 1.5 inches longer than the incandescents so they stick out of the fixtures about that far. turned them on. nice light. thought they wouldn't be quite bright enough because when i got them the package said that they were the equivalent of a 50 watt incandescent. this was not stated on the website. finally i tried to dim them. i could get them to dim to about 10% of the full brightness. after that some of them flickered and some of them went out all together. the bulbs that went out completely would not come back on until i had turned the lights out and then back on several times. very disappointing performance. so TECHNICALLY these lights are dimmable, but PRACTICALLY SPEAKING THESE BULBS ARE NOT DIMMABLE!!!!! DON'T BUY THEM! IT WOULD BE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME!!!!

works well,
This review is from: Greenlite 35008 15W/ELR30/DIM DIMMABLE 15W R30 3000K (Misc.)
These dim nicely, and without much buzz at all, but you have to start out fully on, then dim once the ballasts are warm, otherwise you'll lose the strike and have to start over. We had to replace 2 of 8 that failed to strike consistently, at full power, and the warranty was honored.

At least not for me. Either goes on or off in my dimmable table lamp, whether its warmed up or not. Fortunately, I don't really care (I only wanted a fluorescent that is capable of working in a dimmable lamp-- I'm not really intersted in dimming). So I'm happy with it. Puts out a lot of light for 15 watts (equiv to probably 40 or so incandesent watts).
