5 STAR DOODY'S REVIEW!
"This book, one of the best endocrine textbooks, manages to be comprehensive but not overwhelming. Since various aspects of clinical endocrinology have changed in recent years, a new edition is certainly warranted. I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in endocrinology."--Doody's Review Service

Basic & Clinical Endocrinology, 8e is a concise, single-source reference for the entire field of clinical endocrinology and the underlying basic science. Richly illustrated with 330 illustrations, this trusted guide is written by clinicians and researchers drawn largely from the University of California, San Francisco, one of the nation’s most respected endocrine divisions. Editorial Reviews

Review

"This will be useful for a wide variety of readers. Endocrine fellows will find it particularly useful, but practicing endocrinologists and even internists with an interest in endocrinology will find it helpful as well. Despite its many authors, the book does not seem at all disjointed. The authors are well known in endocrinology and are experts in their respective fields....This book, one of the best endocrine textbooks, manages to be comprehensive but not overwhelming. Since various aspects of clinical endocrinology have changed in recent years, a new edition is certainly warranted. I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in endocrinology. 5 Stars!"--Doody's Review Service (Doody's )

5.0 out of 5 stars A good, friendly-written textbook, March 12, 2009

This review is from: Greenspan's Basic ; Clinical Endocrinology: Eighth Edition (Lange Medical Books) (Paperback)
Greenspan's has the basics: it is well written, the information is accurate and the ratio price/value is worth buying. Experts will probably be keen on recommending it for neophites and it will surely be a fair advice.

This review is from: Greenspan's Basic ; Clinical Endocrinology: Eighth Edition (Lange Medical Books) (Paperback)
This text includes info on some things such as tests that are difficult to find elsewhere. It is easy to read and understand. My favorite endo book and most trusted resource.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wordy, too few figures, glides over key concepts, April 21, 2010

This review is from: Greenspan's Basic ; Clinical Endocrinology: Eighth Edition (Lange Medical Books) (Paperback)
I'm a second year medical student an purchased this book for my endocrinology course. I find the style of writing and lack of figures difficult to follow. The authors can quickly glide over key concepts and delve into great depth on clinically unimportance information. The authors thrive on the nuances that a second year medical student is less interested in. I prefer to read Harrison's internal medicine, NEJM review articles relevant to material, and my class lectures notes. I've tried hard to get into this book: a solid 6-8 hours, but I recommend against this book for medical students.
