So good!,

This review is from: Greenwood Gone (MP3 Download)
I have never really listened to music like this before. I found it lovely and inspiring. The musicians are so talented. And I actually liked that I didn't understand the lyrics. It made the music mysterious. If you're looking for a Celtic CD to add to your collection, or if you're just looking for a fun CD, check this one out!

Original and Beautiful,
This review is from: Greenwood Gone (MP3 Download)
This afternoon I listened to Greenwood Gone on my Ipod while working on pre-calculus, and I enjoyed it immensely. The vocals and instruments were lovely, and the music was unique. The members of Wren Song obviously know their Gaelic culture; while the lyrics were generally unintelligible to the common, un-Gaelic-educated ear - like my own - they were beautiful. The vocals have an unusual lilting quality that took me a while to get used to, but I now enjoy it. Songs range from lively to soft, simple, and sweet; my particular favorite was their rendition of "Be Thou My Vision." 'Tis beautiful. :) All in all, this was a CD of magnificent music, each song unique from the others and the whole album very different from anything I've ever heard before.

Greenwood gone, but not the past!,

Greenwood Gone is an entirely new kind of music, for me at least! I'd never tried Gaelic music before, in fact, until not too long ago, I didn't even know such a thing existed. And what I've found? I was missing some really unique and beautiful music! Even though I can't speak a lick of Gaelic I started listening to Greenwood Gone and immediately realized it didn't matter. The music is amazing to listen and enjoy for it's inherent beauty, just to and soak in. I can definitely see adding more music like this to my library! It's not like much I've ever heard, but the singing is amazing! And the traditional instruments and songs are almost enough to transport me back into the a rain soaked highland clearing or some sunlight forest in years long gone by....
I really enjoyed the CD, the music was thrilling and unique, try it yourself!!
