Originally bought a B&D cordless hedger which did fine for my 3cm size branches on one of my hedges but not the thick finger sized branched hedges I also have. This 4amp does the job nicely. I was really suprised at how well it handles the larger branches. I wanted to be sure I got the most power electric hedger out there and this one seems to be it. Chose this over the B&D 24" hedger. 2" doesn't really make a difference and it would just make that 3.3Amp hedger less powerful, more prone to jam and have a bit more weight to boot.

I was torn between getting this and the "Earthwise HT10024 24-Inch 3.8 Amp". I really wanted the extra 2 inches you get with the Earthwise, and I disagree with the other reviewer that 2 inches doesn't make a difference (insert dirty joke here). However the Earthwise knob for your support hand had me worried - seemed uncomfortable for anything but standard angles. And I liked the idea of the rotating handle on this Greenworks.

I tried it out the first day I got it, and have no complaints. The rotating handle did indeed prove useful for trimming the sides of bushes with a vertical stroke, its a very good idea. I have a LOT of bushes to trim on my property and sometimes they are in positions where I have to hold this trimmer with one hand and reach, which its really too heavy for, so I do wish it had more length, but this length is pretty standard so I can't complain. It definitely cuts amazingly well, especially compared to my Dad's old B&D that I always used to borrow. Obviously can't speak to how long or how well it will hold up over time, but it seems well built to me.

I do not like that there is seemingly no options to lock the trigger into "on" position. You have to always be pressing it. Again, not sure I can complain about this because this seems to be the trend amongst new trimmers.

If you are worried about the lack of reviews on this one like I was, my thought was look at the Greenworks 22112 on Amazon. Seems like exactly the same trimmer but without rotating handle and it has stellar reviews. So I figured the rotating handle couldn't make it worse, and its the same price.

In conclusion, you should get this trimmer, I can't see how you would really be disappointed, especially for the price (i got it for %20 off $50 = $40 from Amazon). Or get the Earthwise and then come back here and tell me how smart I was to get this one to make me feel better about my decision :)

I always had a cordless hedge trimmer and figured they were all alike. When my B&D died I started researching and thought that this would be a good choice. It far exceeded my expectations. With the B&D trimmer, it took me almost 3 days to trim my shrubs(approx. 500+ feet)due to the battery discharging and the lack of overall power. With this trimmer, I did all my shrubbery in less than an hour. Thing had been overgrown due to not having a trimmer for a while. It cut every thing that I tried to cut and never slowed down. I looked for the highest ratings, lower price, and high amperage motor. Money well spent!!!

I couldn't be happier with my new Greenworks 22-inch 4 Amp Rotating Handle Electric Hedge Trimmer. It arrived one day earlier than expected and in perfect condition. The powerful unit cut the branches of my overgrown hedge effortlessly AND was light enough to hold up at eye level without wearing me out. It's worth paying more for the rotating handle which makes it easy and safe to trim in any direction--horizontally, vertically, right, or left. This is a great machine!

This is a excellent Hedge Trimmer. It does everthing the reviews said it would. I received the product as promised in a timely fashion. I am very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this Trimmer to other customers.

I bought the GreenWorks Hedger last year and used it once. It worked O.K. This year in May I tried to use it. The trigger wouldn't work because the safety lever was jammed. This has been reported several times in other reviews.
I called GreenWorks and filled a waranty claim. They refered me to a small engine shop about an hour's drive from my house. I took it there and they said that they would have to talk with GreenWorks and would let me know. Several days later the shop called me and said they thought Greenworks would replace my defective Hedger and that I would be contacted. A week or so passed and no contact. I called GW back and they had no record of me. I went through the whole process of filling the waranty and gave them the number of the shop. Another week passed and I called back. Oh, they would have to take it up with a supervison for review. A couple of more calles and an email or two. I was getting to know them. I was told that they would have talk to their tech person who wouldn't be in for another few days. They would get back to me. I felt that I was getting the run-around and they hoped I would forget it.
Finally I got an email, the a new trimmer would be sent to me. They they said that they had lost my address. I had to provide that two times. Then suddenly I got a big box from GW. It contained a Weed Eater, that I gave to my son-in-law. Finally today a new Hedger showed up on my door step. It test fine and is light and pretty. I just hope the trigger doesn't jam. Probably I wouldn't make it through another waranty thing.

I am a huge Greenworks fan. I have the electric mower and have loved it from day one. I expected the same from my trimmer. My first use... LOVED it! Yes, it cut through even larger branches on some somewhat overgrown "bushes"... I zipped around with the cool swivel for sides of hedges and thought it was wonderful. But then... I unplugged it and moved to the other side of the yard, plugged it in and dang safety button would move. I couldn't press it to make it work AT ALL.. had my neighbor (a guy) try it and he was like "POS"... had another friend (a guy.. just in case us homeowner women really can't figure it out... NOT) and he said same thing... "it's broke, won't move". So, I returned it through Amazon... awesome service the new one was at my house only a day after the defective one was picked up. Great first experience for returning an item. Yay Amazon!

Jump now to trimmer #2... Used it once.. worked fabulous, lightweight again very maneuverable with the toggle/swivel feature. No problems with the safety button at all. Oh so happy, I now love my little Greenworks trimmer as much as my lawnmower. Great price, lightweight and doing the job better than expected. I kept the boxes thinking it didn't last long before, let's just see. Okay my yard is tiny, things don't grow so fast. It was a few weeks before I got to try it again. Super, same experience. I'm feeling like I made a great choice believing in Greenworks products despite my Dad promoting Black and Decker. No no, I will stay with Greenworks! Brings me to yesterday... my third time usage. I plugged it in and the damn safety button to make it start wouldn't move. Grrr, now I'm irritated and determined to make the damn thing work. I ran inside to look at my Amazon order and I am 3 weeks past the return date. Damnit and the EST hours weren't working for me on the West coast at 5 PM. I finally was able to push the button in just enough to make it work, but it's not like it should be. My thumb hurts so bad from trimming 3 small bushes that I actually feel like I have tendonitis from it! My entire wrist hurts.

I hate the damn thing now. I'd give it one star or less actually, but stuck with 2 because the 3 times it did work, I was pleased more than expected.. but not enough to pay full price and send it back in for repairs again. I don't expect I will have one here tomorrow under the 4 year warranty while sending the old one in. I expect now I will have to drive my 3 toddlers along now to wait in line somewhere to drop it off for repair and wait who knows how long to get it back .... so haven't done that yet. WIll see what happens. Perhaps I will update a better rating if that goes well and I actually get one that works for a much longer period. For now, VERY disappointed despite wanting to love it!

NICE light with rotating handle which is worth it over the non rotating handle. I do think 1/2" is max cutting

this trimmer is awesome, I'm a 50 years old women, and this is easy to handle. I trimmed all my bushes in less than 30-min. I would recommend this to over and over again.

I originally had ordered the Greenworks model 22112 several months ago but Amazon was sold out and they were waiting on another shipment. It had good reviews and I wanted a hedge trimmer that was light and powerful. I waited for two months, but could wait no more. My hedges were running wild because of the wet June weather and my old trimmer was no longer usable. I had been looking at the model 22122 but hesitated due to the lack of reviews. When I could wait no more I ordered the model 22122 and have not regretted it a moment. It did my hedges without a hiccup. Thru the heavier stuff I just slowed down a little and not once did I have a problem cutting thru a branch, some looked to me more than half an inch. The rotating handle makes cutting so much easier as you don't have to try and twist your arms to fit the situation, you turn the handle to fit the situation and keep on cutting. I would recommend this tool to to anyone.
