5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic for a cordless electric
I have had the black and decker 18v version for a few years now... wow what a difference... two important points... one if you get the 6.0 AH battery... its MUCH bigger than the black and decker... so you get a ton more run time... second... you get two speeds which is really nice... surprisingly i ended up using both speeds a fair amount depending on what i am doing...

2.0 out of 5 stars Good power, 2 speeds...but switch broke after a few uses
I believe this is the best lithium ion blower out there at the moment, performance-wise. Mainly because it does 2 speeds (a slower speed that's great for blowing debris off gravel, etc). Also, the extra large capacity battery (sold separately) is great for longer run times than any other battery blower on the market. However, after just a few uses, the slow speed on the...

I have had the black and decker 18v version for a few years now... wow what a difference... two important points... one if you get the 6.0 AH battery... its MUCH bigger than the black and decker... so you get a ton more run time... second... you get two speeds which is really nice... surprisingly i ended up using both speeds a fair amount depending on what i am doing.

I am really happy with this... as the cordless feature is great... but i hated having to go through three batteries with the black and decker to finish blowing debris off my driveway / patio... now with one charge i can get it all done with charge to spare.

Remember... this is lithium... so you will be so much more happy with this than nicad that most cordless outdoor tools use today.

I also looked at the Worx lithium... and although it looks really nice too... the thing that won it out for me was the 6.0 Amp Hour battery versus like a 1.3 Amp Hour battery that Worx uses... that essentially means more weight (but not bad) but a lot more run time.

The only thing i was hesitant on was the lack of reviews... so i thought i would add my two cents in for others.

very happy with this... its still early... so i will check in later to see if it keeps performing... but wow... a great start.

This arrived in a surprisingly small box. I opened it up and was amazed the blower was actually inside! So I put it together and took it outside. This will blow grass clippings and dry leaves just fine. But this WON'T be moving wet piles of leaves in your yard.

Just like the GreenWorks grass trimmer, these appliances are meant for small stuff around the house. Besides, who wants to hook up a 300mph blower inside their garage to sweep their floor? Not me.

For my week to week work, I do enjoy the abilities and convenience of this machine.

Plus: Small, compact, light weight, and CORDLESS, also; doesn't blow 300mph winds sending my clippings into my neighbors yard (very controllable).

Cons: If I want to move large volumes of (wet) leaves around the yard and into piles, I better have another blower on hand... (which I do!).

I already had a battery with the purchase of the 18v trimmer.
It seemed like a no brainer to get this blower at it's low cost.
I'm happy with it but wish it had a little more power.
The other reviews are correct on comments about it's power.

Our townhouse is in the middle of the row of houses. Instead of lugging gasoline or an extension cord from the back shed through the house to the front yard, we just slide in the battery! My husband doesn't hate doing the front yard anymore. We bought this after using the cordless weed eater, and what a great combination. One battery for both tools! The power is just right, and it's not too heavy.

5.0 out of 5 stars About like the Black and Decker one., June 15, 2010

Cordless blowers just aren't as good as corded or gas-powered ones. This one is equivalent to the Black and Decker one, meaning its more of an electric broom.

However that said, for my purposes of blowing grass clippings from the sidewalk back onto the lawn, this blower is superior in its speed of getting the job done with its instant on-off, not having to roll out electic cord, and wind back up, no gas engine to fuel and maintain.

Cordless blowers are big battery drains, but I get my 1/4 acre done with the 20v Greenworks trimmer and finish with this on one charge of the 6AH battery.

Does the job for me!

This is my third review of a Greenworks 20-volt Lithium Ion product. I've found each tool to be satisfactory and once you acquire the lithium battery it's hard to resist not adding additional Greenworks tools.

My only problem to-date was the battery stopped recharging. I tried to contact the manufacturer via email but had no replies after two attempts. A phone call put me through to a customer rep. and after a brief discussion of what the charger was doing he sent me a new charger. The battery is now taking a full charge. There have been some complaints about customer service but my experience was very good once I was in contact with a service person. It may have helped that I previously registered each of my tool purchases at their website.

Overall, the product is fine for blowing leaves and other debris from patio decks, driveways and paver patios. It's not so great moving leaves across grass. I give it five-stars because it works as intended without having to fool around with cords or fuel. It's ideal for patio-homes and condo's.

As an aside, Troy-Bilt has an identical product that comes with the 20-volt battery, charger and blower for $139.99 at their website ([...].) If you're looking for just the blower and accessories, this may be a good choice costwise.

This is my first leaf blower. I wanted to go lithium-ion because it's the best battery technology today--if it's good enough for a Tesla roadster, it's good enough for my leaf blower! But Amazon didn't have the charger, nor could I find it anywhere else. Long story short, I called the Greenworks service dpt and they were able to send me one right away. So I got my charger, my battery, and my blower, and I've been using it all summer. It's a great product. It feels solid and it's well-balanced so it's easy to use. The battery has plenty of juice to do my large deck area in a single charge. Overall it's a bit pricier than the NiCad battery products, but of course the battery works in my Greenworks chainsaw too, so its not bad amortized over multiple tools. I expect it to last longer than NiCads, too.

I bought this as a companion to the Greenworks string trimmer. I have had absolutely no problems with it and love the fact that I can use the battery for 45 minutes to edge my lawn, and then pop the battery on the blower to use for as long as I need it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Blower for Light Work - Very Happy, July 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Greenworks 24602 20-Volt Lithium Ion 2-Speed Cordless Electric Blower (No Battery or Charger) (Lawn & Patio)
I got the Greenworks Lithium Ion battery powered blower, hedge trimmer, and electric weed trimmer at the same time. All 3 preform flawlessly! Despite the manual saying the battery would come uncharged, it had about half a charge when it arrived. It took about 2 hours to charge up the battery to 100%. The charging process was easy, and I really like the button on the battery that when pushed shows via several LED lights how much charge the battery has remaining. The blower is strong enough for clearing off your sidewalks, driveway, street, etc. You probably won't want to use it for moving huge piles of leaves in the Fall. The Hedge Trimmer is a beast! It was super powerful and chewed through limbs at least as thick as the corded hedge trimmer I used to use. The weed trimmer is exceptional as well. It took care of all my trimming with no issue, and the edging looked superb along my sidewalk. I really like the Greenworks design which pivots the head of the trimmer 90 degrees to enable edging (vs. having to loosen and move your handle on the trimmer shaft like so many other brands do).

But the most amazing thing about the entire Greenworks system is that incredible 6.0 AmpHr battery! I took care of all the weed eating, then used the blower on the sidewalks/driveway/street and garage, then used the hedge trimmer on two long sections of overgrown bushes. Even with all that work, the Greenworks battery was only 1/2 used up!! It far exceeded my expectations. I'm even considering buying the Greenworks 2.6 AmpHr battery since I'm not sure I need so much power and could save some weight in use by using the lower capacity battery. If you have a really large yard, then the 6.0 AmpHr battery from Greenworks whips those of all other manufacturers and is the one for you.

All three of my tools worked perfectly right out of the box so I can't comment on Greenworks' service or warranty. But I bought from Amazon just in case there were any issues. I'm so happy with these 3 tools, that I'm considering buying the 10 inch Greenworks chainsaw and the 8 inch Greenworks tree pruner from Amazon as well. Amazon and Greenworks: both highly recommended. I'm not affiliated with Greenworks or Amazon in any way ... just a satisfied customer of both.

I'll be posting this same review for all three.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Little Blower!!, November 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Greenworks 24602 20-Volt Lithium Ion 2-Speed Cordless Electric Blower (No Battery or Charger) (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this because of the reviews about the long lasting (6A) battery. This is an "after the first charge" review. I've always been a "get the largest horsepower" machine (I have a gas powered backpack blower) but this little guy is the greatest little unit. It's not for blowing leaves across your yard into a pile; however, on the first charge, it cleaned off my deck (about the size of a double garage), my rear porch (a single garage), my sidewalk and front porch...yes, it's still running and has half the battery left! I then thought I'd just keep going to see what it would do. I then blew the leaves out of my bushes, my mulch beds and cleaned up around the edges of some landscaping walls and it was STILL running. I did notice a slight reduction in power once the battery got past the half way point (there's an indicator on the battery) but nothing to the point that it didn't remain useful.

But that's not all. This thing is light and nimble. I found myself tossing it from one hand to the other, reaching behind my back with it,.... It sort of a cross between a broom, a rake and a blower. It blows leaves out of the bushes and mulch beds without taking the bark with it (there are two speeds - which I used at times). This is a great $200 (don't forget to buy the expensive battery and battery charger) Holiday gift for any homeower....or yourself. I read somewhere where it might be made by Toro? I'm going to see if it continues to perform this well after multiple charges. If so, I'm buying the hedge trimmer ($50) and using the one battery in both!
