I pretty much hate dealing with leaves but am too cheap to hire someone else to do it. I tried using the highly rated Toro leafblower/mulcher, but the mulcher part was very slow-going, impractical and not-as-advertised. I bought this electric Greenworks lawn vac because i did not want to spend the $600+ to get a gas powered leaf vac. It was on sale when I bought it and I have to say (with only one review on Amazon) I was nervous about whether or not it would work and did not expect much. However, it works great. Some notes. It comes practically fully assembled. It was very easy to unpack and get going. Getting the bag on and off is a little different, but easy once you figure it out. You kind of need to go slowly over the lawn, but it sucks up leaves and sticks well and mulches them into fine bits. My lawn did not have a lot of sticks, though and the way the unit is constructed, I think you want to clear as many sticks as you can, because they might have difficulty getting up the chute. Again, I had no problems though. Two Greenworks lawn vac bags equals one lawn clipping trash bag and emptying it into the trash bag was easy. It's fairly quiet (electric after all) and has adjustable height. The only thing I noticed that's a bit troublesome is on the lowest setting, the front of the vac will tear up uneven parts of your lawn if it is not perfectly flat. But if you raise the unit, you are fine. When I used the vac I had left leaves on the ground for an extended period and they had been wet, etc. While it did not pick up all the leaves, it picked most of them up, and my friends with gas powered vacs say they don;t pick up all the leaves under these conditions either. It also never clogged. I am very confident had I had this vac in the beginning of the season and used it right away, it would have sucked up all the leaves with ease. But I would probably not recommend this for wet leaves or ones that have been down a long time. Also, the unit comes with a wall mount so you can hang the vac up off the ground in your garage, which was a nice unexpected bonus. I was very pleased with this purchase overall and would recommend it.
