This review is from: X2:Greetings from Asbury Park/The Wild,Innocent & The E Street Shuffle (Audio CD)
I, like most customers, obviously wanted to take advantage of getting the first two Bruce albums in one package. Let me just say that whether you buy it here or in another packaging; Greetings from Asbury Park is the Bruce album for all of the younger Rock fans that listen to bands like The Hold Steady and hear old timers reference how it sounds like early Bruce Springsteen. This is the raw greatness of a young Bruce telling stories, probably from personal experience, through song. He's singing about all the gritty stuff. What I also love about this album is that Bruce seems to experiment with his voice a lot more than he ever seemed to anytime later in his career. He's very willing to let his voice crack or to let his breath run out. You can tell he was singing his voice out. The only thing that could improve this CLASSIC!!! would be a remastering; and the other albums pretty decent too.
