This review is from: Greetings From Skamania (Audio CD)
One of the more recent releases by the kings and queen of ska, this album is almost up there with their older stuff, and certainly demonstrates a great deal of maturity and steadiness. The group feels well-honed on this CD and their versatility is apparent. Songs like Skalloween and Skamania are good, run-of-the mill, though hardly tired instrumentals. The CD is particularly beefed up by awesome takes on classics like El Pussycat, a great song with an instantly recognizable driving piano line, and Phoenix city, one of the great ska tunes. Some of their older albums may have been fresher, but this one is bursting with musicality. Also recommended is Skavoovee, though this one is probably slightly better, and Foundation Ska, a sweet 2 CD set. Plus, they're a really fun band to see live. They're still pretty rockin'
