New stuff and old stuff made better,
By Andy A (Georgia USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Greetings from Tennessee (Audio CD)
When I ordered this EP from Japan, I was sure that my $... would be well spent. Manohman, was I right! This EP features 5 totally new songs and 5 redone songs. Here is the track list: 1. Baby Goes to Eleven (new) 2. Stu (new and sung by Sammy) 3. I Guess It's American 4. The Emotional Kind 5. Take Your Spectre Away 6. Bloody Hell 7. Liquor 8. Means So Much (new sung by Sammy) 9. Bastards of Young (new - Replacements cover) 10. You Really Got Me (new - Kinks cover) The new material is fantastic, and the remixed harder-to-find older songs sound great! It's hard to believe that even after being cut down to a three-piece band that they can still rock as hard as they do. Believe me, it's true...they have become a true power trio that can rock from here to Japan! Superdrag proves once again that if a band concentrates on the basics (song writing and melody) that the rock and roll vibe will resonate throughout their work. The production is solid, and translates Superdrag properly -- giving the listener that hard rock punch that you get when you see them live. This is raw rock and roll as it should be. You won't be disappointed with this one...

Worth the Money, worth the wait!,

Have you ever bought a cd and on the first listen just new that you had something special? I know if you've been listening to Superdrag for a while, you know what I mean. For those of you who remember "sucked out" and forgot about them after that. You don't know the score! Superdrag is Rock and ROLL, pure and simple, from the wall of fuzz guitars, to the pounding rythym section. Greetings From Tennessee is one of the 'drag's finest moments. This CD oozes greatness. The songs, which some of are previously released and covered...and released on later recordings, are some of my favorites from them. Take your Spectre Away, is definately my favorite on this fine recording. So if you ever see this in a new or used rack, or see it on ebay. GET IT! GET IT! GET IT!!!!!
