5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Backback, December 21, 2008

This backpack is the perfect pack for 2-5 days of traveling. I purchased the Gregory Jade 50 for an upcoming trip to Peru and it was perfect for everything I needed to carry. Plenty of storage, compartments and lightweight. Highly recommended.

Online support from manufacturer re: sizing and fitting is superb. ([...])
Pack is designed for a woman's anatomy and is adjustable for a fine-tuned fit.
Comfortable and well designed.
Lots of straps and buckles--requires time to learn how it works.
Ample capacity for overnight and extended backpacking.

5.0 out of 5 stars recommended, July 6, 2009
This review is from: Gregory Women's Jade 50 Backpack (Misc.)
We went through UK in 40 days. The backpack is rugged, lightweight and
comfortable. You can adjust it so the weight is on your hips and you hardly
feel the weight.
I think that backpacks work better than suitcases with rollers for these trips
because we were always walking miles on country roads.
The one drawback is hopping in and out of cabs. But you can, with experience
pop the pack on and off fairly quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pain free for me!, December 28, 2011

I totally love this pack! It fits all my gear and waists no space. The best part for me is first the cost, I actually got this from Al's sports for $99.00, yes 99 bucks! wow right time right place! When it arrived I just started throwing all my heavy gear into it, to try it on. I have a neck injury with several bulging discs & nerve damage in one of my arms. Hiking & backpacking was so painful with previous packs I've tried. This Gregory pack was the answer! I put it on fully loaded and walked around for a while, very comfortable, moved with my steps, great waist belt not overly thick or thin either. I also have the Gregory 38 with sleeping bag compartment. Both are great packs and even though this pack has no sleeping bag compartment It still works just fine with a little thought to your packing style. Some people have no problem with using any pack men's or women's and that's great. I gotta tell you for my injury this is the most comfortable pack I have tried so far. So I had to buy all 3! The 28 day pack in Tumline green, grows on you. The 38 in Red, great color and style and this 50 in Bluebird, also a color that grows on you! I am very careful with my packs so the last & last. The only problems are if you pack it too tightly it will change the shape of the plastic frame sheet and become very uncomfortable very quickly! And the front pocket is very narrow in dept when pack is full, so only a ultralight rain jacket & pants fit or the equivalent of that will work. No zipper troubles or buckle breaks so far. For a good spin of views of this pack go to Gregory's web site. I hate to pick a stand out of my packs, as they all ROCK! But my favorite of the bunch is actually the women's 38, it's perfect for a long, long day hike or even and over niter. It's just the most versatile pack for me. The narrow straps of the Gregory women's line helps with the comfort level and the weight distribution is excellent!! There are a lot of packs out there, and I'm so glad I didn't have to try too many before finding this line of perfect for me packs! I now enjoy the outdoors hiking as much as possible!
Also check out the 2 person Mountainsmith morrison tent(my favorite go to tent!), it works well with this pack, or a Big Agnus fly creek 2 for your Gregory 38 pack. Enjoy the outdoors...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great backpack!!!, October 12, 2009

Went on my first 4-day backpacking trek with this pack and loved it! Held all of my stuff perfectly. Lots of little hooks and bungies on the outside for attaching water bottles, mittens, hankies, socks, etc.

Only thing is wished there were a few more exterior pockets. Some of the people we backpacked with had quite a few more pockets and I found myself wishing for those. But otherwise this pack was fantastic and I look forward to using it again!

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good backpack, June 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The backpack is very good for 2~4 days use. Water-proof. It is very comfort when it is on your back. However, I found it may be a little bit small size for 5 days travels. It is still a good value with its design and its quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars best backpack, March 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gregory Women's Jade 50 Backpack (Misc.)
This is the most wonderful backpack! It was absolutely wonderful, so many pockets and adjustable straps. The best part of the backpack is that adjusting straps help distribute the weight so that it's not all coming down on your shoulders like teens in school seem to like. I got a women's medium which was possibly a little big, as I had to pull down all the straps to fit right. Now, the only problem I had was trying to get the backpack on... it wasn't terribly difficult. However, it wasn't easy but that may be due to swinging a heavy backpack with all the straps tightened down so much. That said, the hip straps and chest straps keeps the pack close to the body so it feels lighter. Also, the aluminum frame and cushioned pads makes it comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time. It is worth every penny.

I tried on so many backpacks and styles and I fell in love with this one almost instantly! I even bought a different one because it was cheaper but it was NOTHING compared to this one...so I returned it and ordered this Jade 50. I just got back from Morocco and Spain for a month and treated me oh so well. This pack is a trooper and I do not have any complaints.

5.0 out of 5 stars best pack EVER!, November 4, 2010
I bought this trip based on a recommendation for a similar pack when I was recently planning a trip to Europe. We were gone for two weeks, and I had even more extra space left in my pack than my husband ("the minimalist"). It is comfortable, very light weight, and quite spacious. EXTREMELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Can't wait till next summer so I can use it camping, too!
