About Gregory Mountain Products
Wayne Gregory designed his first backpack at age 14 as part of a Boy Scout project. Shortly afterward, he met Andy Drollinger, the founder of San Diego California Adventure 16. Andy was so impressed with Wayne's design that he invited the Boy Scout to visit the Adventure 16 factory, where he began tinkering with a variety of backpack ideas. Wayne soon became the young company's second employee. Wayne opened his first company, Sunbird, in 1970, but dissolved it a few years later after expressing frustration with the limitations of external frame designs. He founded Gregory Mountain Products in 1977, eventually pioneering many firsts, including being the first to build backpacks in different frame, harness, and waist belt sizes; the first (and still only) pack manufacturer to develop a waist belt system that adjusts to fit different hip angles; and developing the center-locking bar tack, a stitch that ends and locks off on the center of a seam instead of the side for increased strength at major stress points. Gregory is located in Sacramento, California.

This review is from: Gregory Diablo 6 Daypack (Sports)
Nice little pack but it's only about 16" in length so it's not good for a tall person or someone with a longer torso. Also the pockets on the waistbelt rub on your forearms if you are using it for running.

Great quick pack/hydro pack for nordic skiing, a run, moderate day hike or bike ride. I'm 5'10" and it fits great. Keep in mind the capacity, as it is small but it fits me fine and the size is exactly what I was looking for. There's two mesh pockets inside and the hydration pack pocket. The waist pockets both have mesh bottoms which may not be where you want to store your keys if you're in light snow or rain, but a good place for a small knife or power bar. The shoulders straps are comfortable as is the similarly meshed backing.Overall I'm happy with the Diablo and it fits several uses, but as the previous reviewer remarked, larger framed folks would probably want to try this out in the store and see how it fits them before ordering one. 2115|R2X0DK258GXXGZ;2115|R1RBOYECCF5F50;
