In addition there is the history and the magical scents and flavours of exotic spices. In this portrait comprising over 128 specially commissioned colour photographs, Roger Brathwaite takes his camera to the heart of the island to capture the wonder, beauty and mystery of this island that the Carib natives, the French, the British, and more recently the Americans, fought to control. It is an exploration of the sometimes tragic history of the island of Greneda, its pulse of daily life and its people.

Roger Brathwaite, a Grenadian by birth, is a freelance photographer and artist. His works have been exhibited in several cities worldwide, as well as being published in magazines and travel guides. He is currently the president of the Grenada Arts Council Inc. This is his first book.
