Bought this because I was looking for a mount for scuba diving that wouldn't be attached to my head or hand. I attached this to a retractable clip with a zip tie, and the clip is attached to my BC. This works great for me. I just pull the camera out and film what I want, then I can let it retract and hang until I need it again. The grip is nice and beefy, it's solid in my hand, even with 7mm gloves on. The only thing I would do to improve it is if the camera could move in other directions (more like a tripod). I like that you can set the angle forward or backward, but it'd be nice if I could hold it lengthwise while keeping the camera upright. But overall it's been exactly what I needed.

I bought a Grenade Grip and it snapped in two where the blue plastic meets the black rubber grip. However, it works well and looks good and will not break under normal use. It is very light and footage will often still be shakey unless you brace your gripping hand with your other hand like holding a handgun.

I thought the entire handle was constructed of the blue plastic in one piece with the rubber grip slipped over it, but in fact there is a hollow clear plastic core which is pretty brittle and the blue plastic mount and the black rubber handle are both sleeved over it. I have since re-bonded the clear plastic where it snapped with epoxy and it's holding well. I just make sure I always use a quality lanyard. I broke it because I tossed it into my dive gear bag and the airport ground staff probably dropped/ tossed the bag and something heavy in the bag landed on it. I give it 3 stars because I expect more robust construction for the price.

So, bottom line is it is not as sturdy as it appears but works well with a solid, comfy grip. Just pack it with your camera gear.

Also, if you dive with it water will get trapped in the hollow core and is somewhat difficult to get out of the tiny hole on the bottom of the rubber grip. I made the hole larger and drilled an additional drain hole on the side of the grip near the bottom.

I really love this grip, its small and compact and great for use with many different activities. I use it quite at bit for snowboarding, its a great steady grip.

However, just beware that there is a itty bitty hole at the bottom of the grip that will collect water! I used this in the pool on vacation once, after the pool we walked around a bit and i noticed that the inside of my purse was wet! It was coming from the bottom of the grip. If you can deal with this then that's fine--but for me i use this grip in and out of water, and i'm glad it didn't leak on anything important. GoPole also makes a bobber grip that is perfect for water stuff, and keeps the camera afloat if you loose grip!

This GoPole grip does exactly what is suppose to. I use this grip mainly for scuba diving and when attached to GoPro it is negatively buoyant which makes this grip ideal for some amateur diving footage. I have also bought the RED filter along with this and this makes a neat and relatively cheap underwater video/photo equipment. Get yourself a grip if you have not got one for your GoPro yet.

I use this for everything, even under water. It does have a small hole in the end of the handle so water does get into it but it comes out when no longer submerged. I don't believe this will keep your gopro from sinking but it will provide a handle for under water. You could easily stick one of those floaties to it and it would probably work to keep it from sinking.

Very useful mounting for my Go Pro Hero 3 Black. I've used this for underwater video and was pleased with how easy it was to use. The grip was very secure in my hand and could easily clip the lanyard to my BC. Highly recommended for ease of use

Works extremely well when I had a floaty and a go-pro attached to it. Perfect for use in the waves for cool POV as well as free diving with go pros GoPro Dive Housing. I love this Handle!

Thumb screw broke with very little pressure applied. So little pressure in fact that the camera was not tight enough to be held in place and would easily flop back and forth on the pole. First and last product I will be buying from GoPole.

I bought this at the last minute for my recent scuba diving trip to use with my GoPro Hero 2. Overall, it worked very well and I was pleased with it. The GoPro mounted soundly to the grip and the camera stayed upright and didn't move on its own.

I used it for 8 dives and twice for snorkeling over 4 days to a max depth of 78 ft. I used the wrist strap in case it ever came out of my hand. On the last day of diving, I let a friend use it for his last 2 dives (he did 4 dives that day while I only did 2). When he began to surface to safety stop depth at the end of his dive, he let go of the grip as it was attached to his wrist via the wrist strap. In less than a minute, the wrist strap became unscrewed from the grip and the grip plus my GoPro sank to the bottom to about 40 ft. Fortunately, the dive master saw it happen and retrieved it... otherwise, it would have been lost (kind of funny watching the video but only because I still have my GoPro and you can hear the dive master laughing). My guess is that the (plastic) screw became loose over the 4 days. I'm thinking that plumber's tape may help prevent this in the future but it would be nice to hear from GoPole on this issue.

I'd rate this 4 stars if the wrist strap issue hadn't occurred.
