I am relatively new to the craft of painting, but even I found Gretchen Cagle's Decorative Painting Keepsakes to be full of great "do-able" ideas. The photographs of the finished projects are beautifully done, and give valuable examples of how your work might look. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow, and there are many tips on basic techniques and more advanced concepts. Most importantly, the designs in this book are in a variety of layouts, shapes, and color schemes, so you can adapt them to other types of projects, such as other types of woodwork or even canvas.

This book is great, has all the things I like to paint and at a very reasonable price. When buying painting books it would be great to be able to view the projects in the books. If you are unfamiliar with the Artist its hard to make a decision without seeing their style of painting.
