There's no doubt about the fact that Gretchen's a "country singer," but there's a lot more under the surface for those who are willing to look. She's actually a performer who can comfortably step outside of the "CMT" boundaries...WAY out. I really had my eyes opened when I saw her performance on VH1's "Heart: Decades Live." She started out with a nice duet with Ann Wilson on Heart's hit "Even It Up," but then the two jumped head-first into a faithful, energetic reading of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll." This lady's got the pipes, no doubt about it. They didn't do a "polite" version of the song...they went for the throat. It was a genuine "goose bump" moment. So yes, this DVD is brief, and yes, the price is reasonable for the content offered (I paid ten bucks for mine). Gretchen is, and probably will remain, a "country singer," and there's a certain amount of loyalty and sticking to tradition that audience expects. But the performers who are in it for the long haul are also rewarded with the freedom to try new things and expand their boundaries, and if there's one thing I've learned about Gretchen in the last couple of years, it's the fact that there's a lot...a LOT...more going on than "Skoal Ring." She's the performer to watch. She's got the looks, the talent, and she seems to be wearing her success up to this point very well. Buy this DVD and enjoy a true performer at work.

Like another reviewer I happened to see this on TV one evening and was really impressed with the quality of Gretchen's voice. I'm not a big country fan but I liked what I heard. After I checked the TV listings and found the show wasn't scheduled to be shown again, I checked to see if it was available on DVD. And here we are. While I wouldn't pay $20 for this DVD due to limited content, I was more than happy to take it for a fraction of that. Gretchen and her band sound great in what is really an acoustic jam session after a concert featuring songs from "All Jacked Up". The video quality is very good, and the audio is better than the CD I think. At least a couple of other band members ought to do their own albums because they seem to have the talent to carry the show.

I absolutely LOVED this special that was aired on CMT. It shows what a true singer Gretchen really is...nothing fake about her!!!

The musicians that happen to be playing with Gretchen are HER BAND. Also joining in is someone from Kenny Chesney's band....his name is Wyatt(the keyboard player).

This was great. . Not completly spontaneous, but a great accoustic session. It was great to watch and hear Gretchen Wilson sing without the stage additions. She has one of the most amazing voices in country music. I continue to be amazed at the range her voice has and the versatility. There are few in music any better. It will be fun to watch and see what she can do next.

I give 5 stars to this DVD. It feels good to see people so true and so real who enjoy playing and singing Country music the way that it should be done. Watching this acoustic rehearsal puts us right in the middle of it. Gretchen and her band are just great!

THIS IS AN AFTER SHOW ACOUSTIC JAM SESSION IN GRETCHEN'S DRESSING ROOM ON THE ROAD ON TOUR. SHE AND HER BAND HAVE A GREAT JAM SESSION, THEY ARE RELAXED AND JAM TO UNWIND FROM THE SHOW THAT HAS JUST BEEN PERFORMED. YOU GET TO SEE GRETCHEN IN A MORE INTIMITE WAY.

THIS IS A FUN DVD TO WATCH, GRETCHEN AND HER BAND ARE GREAT!!! THIS JAM SESSION IS GREAT!!! IF YOU LIKE GRETCHEN, YOU'LL ENJOY THIS ONE. THEY PLAY SOME OF THEIR HITS AND ALSO THROW IN SOME OTHER SONGS LIKE THE JIMMIE RODGER'S CLASSIC "MULE SKINNER BLUES"!!!

THIS IS A FUN ONE FOLKS, AND I RECOMMEND IT!!! I'LL BE GLAD WHEN SHE RELEASES A FULL CONCERT DVD!!! I'VE SEEN HER PERFORM ON HER "REDNECK REVOLUTION TOUR", SHE IS A NATURAL PERFORMER,SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!!!

Cant wait for more from Gretchen as i enjoyed watching and listening too this dvd

i was surfing through the channels a couple nights ago and happened upon gretchen wilson undressed.
the title, naturally, caused me to pause.
i'm not a huge country music fan but i can appreciate
good musicianship and good singing and good songs.
as i watched......waiting for the 'undressed' portion :)
i became more and more interested in this loose
backstage gathering of a jam session.
gretchens singing was excellent and all the musicians
were excellent as well.
the songs range from soft and tender to fun 'n' kickin'.
the show really made an impression on me and i thought
back upon it the following day(always a good sign).
well, today, i walk into WALMART and what do i see?
this very same show out on DVD! gretchen wilson undressed!
well, folks i just HAD to buy it. it had left such a good
feeling with me as i watched it on tv.
gretchen says in the end 'thanks for watching gretchen wilson undressed. i hope you weren't disappointed'.
no gretchen, i was not.

I really liked this unpretentious look at Gretchen and her band.
Would I have preferred a live, amped out filmed arena performance? Hell Yeah! I can't wait for that to happen. I have seen them in concert and they are worthy of all the buzz.
Until that time I'll just consider Undressed a precursor.
This video highlights the after the show camaraderie.
Musicians who are co-workers and friends, chilling out after
performing for thousands. No pressure, just doing it for the love of the music and the opportunity to hang out.
I liked the acoustic sound of the songs.
Gretchen may be THE NAME, but she doesn't hog the spotlight.
Her lead guitarist Dean Hall sings several songs, and very well!
The band members talk about working with Gretchen and vice versa. I am a recent fan, and liked learning about the
Redneck Woman and her life on the road.
One nit-pik: I really wished the band had been introduced.
You can catch who is who in the credits.
I will say, I am glad I didn't pay full price for it.
I will watch it again, but I don't think it is one that I will replay
a blue million times.

This DVD brought back memories...to the days when my husands band would get off work and the relaxing jammin sessions we would have. Everyone would join in. Just as in this session with Gretchen and all her friends, relaxing, pressures off from the public. Other stars and muscians would wander in and join them. For the young and inexperienced, they might not appreciate the spontaniety, pure talent and relaxed situation they were in. Yes, I give this one 5 stars.
