This is a fun guitar to play and sounds sweet. The body is really large so playing this guitar is like hugging a chubby girl. This is not a bad thing because chubby girls need hugs too! Bought this guitar based on internet reviews (Amazon/ other music websites). Youtube has several videos of people demoing this guitar, which also influenced my purchase. I've received many "Wow, what a beautiful guitar." comments from friends.

Firstly, mine is Orange, not Black. But, what a killer guitar. All the legacy of Gretsch instruments is in place. I'll compare this with a vintage Nashville model any day. Sweet!

For around $900 you shouldn't be able to buy such a nice guitar. I have to confess, I haven't bought it, but I just tried it at GC and was blown away. I do not need another guitar, but this will soon be in my collection. Big punch, or big twang, or smooth and jazzy. Blues drive: OK, but not a big overdriven crunch need apply. pickups are not made for that.
Beautiful workmanship too. The Gibsons I just saw make me want to say, "shame on you Gibson."
Looks great in all colors, but I'm enamored of this green color.

While a lot of people may consider this to be a poor man's 6120, it actually plays really nice and is a quality build. I was quick to write this model off when I saw it years ago, but I'm no where good enough for the real deal or rich enough, so this was a good compromise. I think updating the pick ups to tv Jones with their wiring harness would put it the class of a Setzer model at a fraction of the price. I recommend this guitar to anyone on the fence about buying one, you will not be disappointed when you get your hands on it.

Bought one of these - lovin' it. Action needed to be dropped a bit for my tastes, but macht nix. I get the Gretsch sound but no at the price tag of say a 6120. I run it through a Fender 65w and I get the highs, mids and lows that sound great.
