Melancholic sounds, September 23, 2003
October Tide was a side project of two members of Katatonia. Their first album, "Rain Without End" was brilliant. Dark, depressing and gloomy. Then "Grey Dawn" came out and though it does not surpass the debut, this album has amazing music. The voice is a dark growl, but not an agressive one like say Cannibal Corpse, but its more of a sad, heartfelt wail. The guitars are slow, and everytime the sound comes out of the speakers, it gets dark, cold and gloomy. If you like anything from the Cure, to Candlemass, you will enjoy this album, but good luck trying to get this one or "Rain without End" its almost impossible. Please, guys from Katatonia, if you ever read this, can you please make another album? I have never heard anything like October Tide..dont let it die.

This is the most beautiful music that my ears ever hear!!!, January 4, 2004
I have this album on the Top of my CD collections. I have never heard any other album from any band sound like this. I can't descript what's inside with letters, you must hear it to understand. it's a piece of art. I'm very sad with these 2 members of Katatonia that they make only these 2 albums :( and I dream a day (hope) that they will come back and greate more albums like this one! I write this and i hope that some day this 2 members of Katatonia read this.

Puttin' in a little overtime in between projects..., January 1, 2000
...current Katatonia members have assembled a nice collection of same-style songs to further satisfy their diehard fans. Is the music wholly original? Nope, but I would rather have more of Renske and Norrman's talents than than less. Face it folks, not many projects can approach the sheer power of Katatonia's releases, but this disc doesn't pretend to be a contemporary, but a supplement to any fan's collection. Favorite songs for me are Heart of The Dead, Grey Dawn, and Into Deep Sleep. Try it, you'll like it.
