The HBO edition of Grey Gardens has surpassed expectations. The original, mind-bending for its austerity, this version - mind altering in its capturing the complexity and grandeur of the original. Ms. Lange & Ms. Barrymore have absolutely outdone themselves. Ms. Portman's soulful accompaniment to their story is testament to the talents behind this production. The orchestrations, simple, but not, the emotion in the score, true, and heartfelt - the end result, a glorious affirmation of what was, and what can be. I sometimes display a CD (based on artwork, usually) on a shelf reserved for more formal works - Grey Gardens, the CD, has a place in that gallery. Don't be the last on your block - get thee to a CD emporium - now!

I was going to buy the DVD movie and by mistake got the tape.

Although is not my type, is very pleasant and I'm enjoying it.

The music from the soundtrack immediately evokes images from the HBO production starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore. If you enjoyed the film, you may also enjoy the soundtrack.

Very happy with the dvd and that it came in time for my Mothers B-day I hope she enjoys it .

I absolutely love this soundtrack for Grey Gardens! I loved the movie also and the CD really captures the feel of the movie. I can't say enough good about it. It gives me chill bumps when I hear this beautiful music.

I watched the movie on HBO several times. The music was beautiful and fitting to its story. Both Lange and Drew Barrymore were outstanding. When you listen to the CD you wonder back to the scenes in the movie and can't help but to make that connection. Love it. RE

I had not seen the original documentary or play Gray Gardens..... However I was so mesmerized by the HBO adaptation that I bought the original documentary, viewed it and was in more awe by the performances by Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. This HBO production is stunning

Anything about the Beale family and I am there. I recently bought this cd and played it that night, very delightful music. Just wish I had HBO so I can watch Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange as Big and Little Edie. Just have to wait until it comes out on DVD. I highly recommend this cd.
