Book Description

February 2004
Now it's time for every over-the-road motorcoach driver to have his day in the sun. Howard Suttle has lived the life, written the words and drawn the pictures that do just that. Howard did it all for Greyhound, the most famous bus company on highways of the United States, along U.S.Highway 66 the nation's famous "Mother Road." His stories range from small laughs to huge tragedies. They all say much about motorcoaches and the people who drive them, those who ride them, and much more about the human condition and spirit. From the ballarina practicing in the aisle to teenagers fleeing home...they're all here in Howard's great tales.

5.0 out of 5 stars Purchased for a retired driver, February 13, 2008
By
D. Anderson (St. Louis, MO USA) - See all my reviews
I bought the book for my dad, a retired Greyhound driver, but of course I read it too. Despite a number of typos, the book does a great job of covering the ups and downs of the business. The author has an engaging style of storytelling - it reminded me of many of the stories my dad would tell when he came home from a trip. My dad related well to it. But the chapter about the bus that wouldn't quit running...he hadn't laughed that hard in a long time!
