I just received my pre-ordered copy today... what an amazing collection of photos!! I have a greyhound and Barbara Karant has really captured the beauty, the soul and the goofiness of these fine creatures. If you have a greyhound you must get this book. Not only are the photos beautiful, but the quotes and forward (by Alice Sebold) and afterward (by Neko Case) are further testimonials to this breed. And you don't have to actually have a greyhound to appreciate this book. The photography is really remarkable, it makes a fine addition to anyone's library.

Any lover of dogs and/or photography will treasure this book. I wasn't prepared for the emotional reaction I had upon paging through it... it's incredibly moving and amusing at the same time (leave it to those hounds!). I already have a list of people who will be getting copies as a Christmas gift. It's just a phenomenal work of art.

Where to begin...this book has exceeded my expectations with the amazing array of images that have uniquely captured the spirit and soul that these creatures define. The prose was equally touching in conveying why we love and devote ourselves to our greyhounds. But don't let the name fool you...this is a book that anyone can open and appreciate!

Whereas most greyhound photographs show the hounds in a specific context - on a beach, frolicking together, owning a sofa - this book focuses entirely on the hounds themselves, sharply contrasted against stark white backgrounds so that every feature stands out. Although the beauty of these pictures can't be overlooked, the absence of any textual accompaniment left me feeling strangely empty, wanting more. It definitely has merit as a coffee table book, but those who want substance along with style might be disappointed.

This book is amazing. If you already have greyhounds at home you'll love the photos and the wonderfully written text. If you haven't yet adopted a greyhound, after reading this book you'll want to get to your local greyhound adoption agency (Greyhound Angels Adoption!!!!) and adopt a greyhound ASAP!!!!!! I'm taking this book to our Meet and Greets for further evidence of how greyt these dogs are.

Beautiful photographs that capture the essence of the greyhound. I am amazed that she was able to photograph them so well. Because of their anatomy, their facial expressions can look a bit odd. These photos show greyhounds at their best.

Wonderful!! The photographs are amazing and the text is wonderful to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who shares their life with a dog, especially a long-legged super model that is the greyhound!

The photographs in this book, unquestionably helped me look into the heart and soul of this beautiful animal. They present all the wisdom, beauty, mischieviousness and the sometimes downright goofyness of this ancient and magnificant breed of dog. I know that I'm doing a great injustice to the breed, by calling a Greyhound a dog. (Forgive me!) As a first time Greyhound owner, I now know that the Greyhound is so much more than a mere "dog." I also know that in the not too distant future, there will be at least one more Greyhound in my life!

More than a coffee table book. This exquisitely photographed volume is filled with loving insights about this gentle breed of dogs that will touch the heart even if you have never been fortunate enough to know one of these animals. A must for anyone who has ever adopted a greyhound (or more) ex-racers. A book that is a joy to have in your home just like the dogs that it is dedicated to. More over, it is a fund raiser for the breed................so buy it new, you will never regret it.

This was a superb book. I would hope more peopl would rescue these wonderful dogs instead of lettiner the owners 'destroy' them when they have stopped making money. We have four 'greyt' dogs. A must see.
