Grey's Anatomy 101 is a collection of essays on the smash-hit television show, Grey's Anatomy, and is not authorized by the ABC network, creators or producers of Grey's Anatomy, or any entity associated with the show.
Thoughtful and refreshing essays weigh in on how the wildly popular hospital drama, Grey’s Anatomy, rises above its genre in this anthology. With its sharp writing, strong female characters, and stellar cast of ethnically diverse actors, the show made an immediate splash with viewers. Topics range from lighthearted relationship commentary and speculationWhy Dr. Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd Don’t Mix” and Picking Up Men in Bars”to the analysis of more serious themes, such as Shades of Grey: The Moral Ambiguity of Grey’s Anatomy” and George O’Malley, Nietzschean Superman.”
Leah Wilson is the editor of Perfectly Plum and Welcome to Wisteria Lane and the coeditor of James Bond in the 21st Century and Mapping the World of Harry Potter. She lives in Dallas.

When I purchased this book I was looking for some academic essays focusing on this show. Although the format of the book (with a brief and rather unprofessional synopsis of each article on the front page) leaves a bit to be desired, many of the articles are worth the purchase price. There is definitely some academic fodder to sink your teeth into here.
