I am also a school teacher and read the intro to my fourth grade students. They are creating a waiting list of who gets to read it next. I know both the boys and the girls will love reading this book. They will be able to connect with at least on of the characters, and will enjoy the teenage humor. Can't wait until I get to read the next book Greyson Gray:Fair Game.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting each of the characters as they arrived at the sports camp with their own unique quirks. Of course, this leads to a few quarrels at first, but it was fascinating to watch them blend together into a cohesive unit until all their unique qualities came into play to overcome the evil threat. Greyson Gray is a 12-year-old hero who fights enormous odds to prevent a terroristic attack. The action never ends; it only takes a break now and then.
The boy humor, which was never questionable in taste, had me laughing out loud and nodding at how fitting it was (I’ve raised two boys). Although I’m a middle-aged reader, I did not ever want to put this book down.
I strongly recommend this book for kids (and adults) who want a fast-paced adventure that’s good clean fun. I’m already ordering the next books in the Greyson Gray series.
With sex, drugs, and hard life choices around every corner and on every station of our electronic babysitters it's nice to find a breath of fresh air. I think it's outstanding that such an original story can still reach out from the pages and teach strong morals and values. I would rather have my kids reading then staring at their phones at the dinner table, and it's nice to know if I gift the this inspiring series they will not be corrupted or misled down a bad path. B.C. Tweedt is the J. K. Rowling of our time, and for those of us a little older she's our Judy Blume!
Reading this series brought back memories of Red Dawn and I wonder how our children would handle it if this would happen here today. This rag tag bunch would make the Wolverines proud!
