5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent free logic puzzle series from Amazon Services. September 22, 2011
A classic logic puzzle gives a list of clues, from which you much make a deduction. One of the best known is the "Who is the Engineer?" puzzle.

On a train, Smith, Robinson, and Jones are the fireman, brakeman, and the engineer, but NOT respectively. Also aboard the train are three businessmen who have the same names: a Mr. Smith, a Mr. Robinson, and a Mr. Jones.
1. Mr. Robinson Lives in Detroit.
2. The brakeman lives exactly halfway between Chicago and Detroit
3. Mr. Jones earns exactly $20,000 per year.
4. The brakeman's nearest neighbor, one of the passengers, earns exactly three times as much as the brakeman.
5. Smith beats the fireman in billiards.
6. The passenger whose name is the same as the brakeman's lives in Chicago.

Grid Detective would classify this one as Easy. In 30 excellent puzzles, a Gridwork is given with the relevant names, wages, colors, cities, or hobbies, and the cursor can mark X or O on the various squares to make deductions.

A trainer puzzle is given at the start. After that, there are 10 Easy, 10 Moderate, and 10 Hard puzzles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warning.... Addictive! September 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
Remember the old DELL Logic books? The ones where you wore through the page erasing your marks?

Imagine....

An electronic version, using X and O, and auto populating the rest of the spaces with shading or the appropriate X each time you correctly figure out a clue. If you enjoyed the paper version, you'll LOVE this game.

Easy to navigate on the Kindle. X for "not an option" O for "correct answer", Space bar deletes what you have put into the square. PAGE forward to move to the next clue (which highlights the clue you are working on.)

Great Kindle distraction!

NOTE: update 10/2/11: This game will download to the new ($79) Kindle (many will not... see my review), and the 5 way can be used for the X and O (middle button with either single or double clicks. (12/26/11: but it is not ported to either the Kindle Touch or Kindle Fire).

Enjoy!

I always buy the logic problem puzzles and so when this free game came along I grabbed it. I love it, especially the fact that you csan erase and start over without destroying the paper grid :). If you like logic puzzles you will love this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite.
The grid is a little confusing at times. Just when I think I have the puzzle figured out, it tells me that the whoel thing is wrong because I read the grid wrong.

4.0 out of 5 stars FUN
Fun and logical. It's like a flashback into a logic class in high school or college. Great little mind games to help focus your thinking skills.

4.0 out of 5 stars HAVE TO THINK
IT WAS AN INTERESTING GAME. YOU HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT. I KEPT GOING BACK TO THE HINTS. NOT A GAME TO RUSH THROUGH. HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING.

No Grid Detective for Kindle Fire
I wrote a similar app with some friends for the Kindle Fire, and Amazon has finally approved it. 1.4 is now released, and it should fix display issues and puzzle answer issues from the previous versions. Looking forward to community feedback.

Thanks!
