This book is a very insightful guide which would be helpful for anyone who has ever suffered a loss of a loved one. This is a very comprehensive approach to understanding and dealing with the entire process of grieving, from recognizing and accepting the stages and effects to putting a program together to manage and cope with it. Included are recommended techniques and activities designed to keep the reader centered and moving in a positive direction throughout the process, dealing with the psychological, physiological, social, and spiritual aspects of grieving, including making plans into the future. What I like about this book is that it encourages the reader to take a proactive approach to take on the grieving process and maintain control, as opposed to being a victim of it like so many do too often. I believe this book would be a very helpful asset to anyone who has ever endured the pain of loss.

In my opinion, this book is recommended for people who really are not sure of where start healing from grief. As someone who experienced it previously, I found it to contain information that mostly everyone already knows. That is not to say that the book isn't good. There are passages of it that made me think twice of how I view grief as such a negative part of my life and avoid it at all costs. My favorite part of the book however is regarding habits and routine, changing your daily life, which is something we not always think about when talking about grief. Overall, I found it a reliable source of information and comfort especially for people who need immediate support.

I thought this book had some good tools for handling grief. It covered everything from accepting your feelings to moving on. I especially found the part about setting up a routine and such really helpful. I was given this book for free and it has helped me deal with a loss of my own that I’ve been struggling a bit with. It was easy to get through and wasn’t too heavy, and yet hit all the bases. I’d definitely recommend it.

Everyone faces grief from the lost of a loved one at some point in their life. Grief Healing Techniques: Step by Step Support for Working Through Grief and Loss provides real tips for dealing with this rough period. This book has five chapters: 1- Understanding Grief, 2- Embracing Your Feelings, 3- Reaching Out, 4- Rebuilding Your Routine, 5- Exploring New Terrain, 6- Facing The Future, and 7- Remembering. Each chapter goes into in-depth details of the mourning process. One of the most notable chapters is Chpater 4- Rebuilding Your Routine. This particular chapter offers advice on getting back to your day-to-day routine and how to treat yourself good. Obviously, this book only scratches the surface of the grieving process and you may need or want more help. If that's the case, talking to a therapist may be a good thing (this book even suggests it!).

Personally I have been through a lot and this book helped out a great deal. The activities that they give you to help relax your mind and your body are great. It explains how your mind deals with grief and also pushes the reader to become active in the healing process. This book also keeps the reader on a positive track, and explains that everyone has to deal with grief differently. I took some very helpful advice from this book, and I would recommend this book to anyone who has dealt with the loss of someone special to them.

Anyone who has ever suffered a serious loss will benefit from this superb guide as they traverse the tortured road known as 'grieving.' For the first time, the state of mourning is ultimately legitimized and given its due. If nothing else, we can finally stop feeling ashamed simply because the pain of our loss is so absolute.

For myself, when I sorrowfully accepted that I had to bring an end to the suffering of my beloved rabbit, Jacques Noir, my own suffering was just getting underway. If only I had read this wonderful step-by-step 'grieving guide' to help me sort through the overwhelming sense of loss I experienced during the year that followed.

After reading this book, I realized there are still a few more healing steps I can take, years later, to fully release that cycle of pain and loss. Grief Healing is a must-read for anyone who has ever entered the state we call 'grief.'

Written in solid, detailed prose, it takes an in-depth look at the many aspects of a difficult emotion. The book also points out that grief can be not only for the loss of a person, but for the failure of a business or a move from a beloved home. It is particularly helpful in covering all stages, from the very beginning right to the end possibility of “allowing the sun to come out again in your life,” while emphasizing that no phase should be rushed. Combining a good dose of psychology with practical pointers, this is a very satisfactory, useful primer.
