5.0 out of 5 stars Pithy and Intensely Useful
Karen Katafiasz, along with illistrator, R.W. Alley have produced simply the most practical and accessible book on dealing with the loss of a loved one. During those first horrible days when we began to deal with the sudden loss of our 13-year-old daughter, Jenny, GRIEF THERAPY was the only book small enough and to the point enough to get through to us.

Tonight I am...

1.0 out of 5 stars I didn't find it helpful
Others may find this book useful. But, I didn't find any help in it's overly simplistic approach to grief. It neither comforted me nor allowed me to search my soul or feelings regarding the loss of my father. It may have been more appropriate for one of my young nieces because of it's cartoon feeling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!, June 29, 2003

I lost my 24 yr old son 6 weeks ago and a very good friend sent me this book. I have been given several books, but this one was so special. I could read it in 10 minutes..it made sense..it knew what I was feeling and it was ok. I cried again, but when I finished the book my heart was uplifted and my pain eased. Now, I respect the grief I am going through and know it is OK to feel what I feel.

Losing my father has been the most tramatic event in my life. This small and wonderful book provided answers to questions and feelings I couldn't put into words. Be assured, it will bring tears but it also brings meaning and comfort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful help to keep in your pocket, March 9, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Grief Therapy (Elf Self Help) (Paperback)
I was given this book when my sister died recently. It has been extremely uplifing and helpful. A thought to carry with you the whole day is more powerful than chapters of advise and counsel. I love it and now am planning to buy several to pass on to others. Its a perfect gift to give someone who is grieving.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little book that packs a big punch !, August 7, 1997

This review is from: Grief Therapy (Elf Self Help) (Paperback)
As I face my Mother's impending death and contemplate this thing called life, I find that books, such as this one, help me along the way. In less than 50 pages, this wonderful pocket book is full of insight and feeling and is illustrated with cartoons, which add a sense of calm to the words on the opposing page. I have read it over and over and have not grown tired of its message. It is a must-have for anyone experiencing the process of grief

5.0 out of 5 stars Deeply comforting!, November 21, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Grief Therapy (Elf Self Help) (Paperback)
This little book spoke to me at a time when my heart was overwhelmed with grief over the suicide death of my son. My mind was numb and I had trouble focusing on anything. The simple message of hope and comfort on each page broke through the confusion in such a way that I was able to remember it thoughout the day. My son did not seem so far away after I read this book.

This book not only helped me through the loss of a 10 year old child, but has helped me spiritually become a stronger Christian. Very simple, yet very POWERFUL suggestions on getting through the grief process. Buy more than 1, you will want to give them to friends who have suffered loss of close family and friends.

A dear friend gave me a copy, (by copy I mean photo copy) of this book five years ago when my father passed away. When another friend's father recently passed away, I looked up this copy wishing I knew the title, author or even what the cover looked like. It was so comforting and helped me out so much I wanted to pass it on. After searching on Amazon for quite a while, I finally found it! I can't believe it. This is such a great gift when your own words seem to fail. I bought five!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly helpful!, February 14, 2008
This review is from: Grief Therapy (Elf Self Help) (Paperback)
I have purchased more books than I can count on Amazon but this is the first time that I have been moved to write a review. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has lost someone dear to them. Very simple but powerful advice. If you don't know what to say to someone who has had a loss, give them this book.
