Book Description

March 6, 2001
When the anticipation of your child's birth turns into the grief of miscarriage, tubal pregnancy, stillbirth, or early infant death, no words on earth can ease your loss. But there is strength and encouragement in the wisdom of others who have been there and found that God's comfort is real. Having experienced three miscarriages and the death of an infant son, Kathe Wunnenberg knows the deep anguish of losing a child. Grieving the Child I Never Knew was born from her personal journey through sorrow. It is a wise and tender companion for mothers whose hearts have been broken--mothers like you whose dreams have been shattered and who wonder how to go on. This devotional collection will help you grieve honestly and well. With seasoned insights and gentle questions, it invites you to present your hurts before God, and to receive over time the healing that He alone can--and will--provide. Each devotion includes: * Scripture passage and prayer * 'Steps Toward Healing' questions * Space for journaling Readings for holidays and special occasions also included

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book August 6, 2005
Format:Hardcover
I recently purchased this book and have found it to be immensily useful. My infant son died three months ago and I have been scouring literature to help me 'face' my grief. I love this book and, at times, I am shocked how elequently Kathy writes how I am feeling. I like the Biblical devotions that accompany each chapter. I use this book as a sort of Bible study to give me Biblical foundations to build my healing upon. I know that someday I will be a sort of 'mentor' to another parent who has lost their child and this is a book that I will give to them. I would say that this is a must-have. Also, if you are reviewing this particular book, I assume you also have experienced the loss of a child or know someone who has....my heart goes out to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars An uplifting, honest publication March 16, 2001
By Renee
Format:Hardcover
Thank you, Kathe, for openly sharing your journey through the grief. This spiritual publication has opened up so many different emotions for me, so many unexpected feelings of loss, guilt, anger... After taking the journey myself, I have begun to walk again -- with others -- through their grief and pain. Thank you for providing the structure and 'path' which opens up the possibility for healing. Wonderful work, guided by God...

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving and Losing March 8, 2007
Format:Hardcover
This book was such a wonderful gift when we lost our daughter. Out of all the materials that were received this one truly walked me through my feelings and gave hope. We now donate a number of these books to our hospital so that the comfort I found can be shared with others that are grieving.
