Book Description

August 15, 1995
Grieving with Hope is a small easy to read book which was written for individuals who are experiencing a crisis of faith in addition to their grief. Knowing that authenic faith and true joy are often found on the far side of suffering, Dr. Holtkamp sought a way to encourage others. In hopes of awakening a "shiver of self-recognition" in her readers, Dr. Holtkamp has chosen the personal, informal essay. This most intimate form of writing offers identification, understanding, companionship and encouragement for those who struggle through the spiritual winter of sorrow.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"I was overjoyed to find Grieving with Hope. Where others fail, this realistic and potent resource offers a poignant examination of one woman's traumatic bereavement and her loss-induced crisis of faith. Grieving with Hope specifies how she manages to relearn her world and renew her faith, providing true lessons in how to cope and find hope again after major loss. What a wonderful gift for mourners who fear the loss of their spiritual convictions and/or sense of connection. " -- Therese A. Rando, Ph.D., The Institute for the Study and Treatment of Loss, Warwick, Rhode Island, Author of "Treatment of Complicated Mourning" and "How to go on Living When Someone You Love Dies"
