1.0 out of 5 stars Worse screen protector I have ever used
I have used quite a few different types of screen protectors over the years and these rate the worse I have seen. First they are not labeled clearly, the 2nd tab does not pull the outer screen off and when you do get the outer film off, it looks like something in the film has cracked. It's looks like a iridescent rainbow and then flakes off. Don't get any of the flakes...

Maybe it's just me, but for a couple hours today I was trying to apply the wrong plastic film to my ipod...
the actual screen protectors are sandwiched between two plastic "protector protectors" - there are 3 total pieces per set, not 2 as I originally thought, and the middle one (the one that doesn't have a small sticker tab attached to it) is the one that should go on your ipod. So I spent my time trying to apply one of the outer plastic sheets - i was surprised at how sticky it was and how hard the air bubbles and dust particles were to get out...i was about to give up when I discovered my error...

Anyway, the actual protector is very easy to apply - got it on the first try with no problems and no visible air bubbles or dust particles, and I quickly retrieved the other 4 from the trash bin. It's not designed to be an anti-glare film - it's just like the ipod touch's own screen, and doesn't affect viewing the screen at all. I know there are cheaper screen protectors out there, but this comes with a microfiber cleaning cloth and is definitely made specifically for the ipod touch. Considering you get 5 in the package, this is a pretty good deal.

I hope this saves at least one person some frustration...

4.0 out of 5 stars very good overall, September 17, 2008

These screen covers are slightly small for the new second generation ipod touch but doable if it's in a case that covers the edges anyway.

The quality of the cover is great...forget it's even there - all works perfectly and looks great with it on.

My one gripe has to do with the directions, which were very confusing and the labels referred to in the packaging did not match what I received...I called Griffin and they were very helpful...the bottom line is the screen protector itself is sandwiched between two other layers...a thin, sticky clear film that looks a lot like other screen protectors I've had in the past...but this is not it...you peel this off by pulling on the larger of the two stickers (the one with a triangle on it), turn what you have left face down on your ipod touch (centered and with air bubbles removed) and then peel the other label off (small sticker that says "remove me") and a top clear film comes off leaving the actual screen protector in place. It's actually pretty cool once I understood what I was supposed to do. And I would definitely get these again and will do so when they come out with slightly larger ones for the 2nd generation touch - till then, I'm happy.

I agree with the reviwers who said this is a great product but the instructions are awful. Thank you to those who gave the correct instructions! It made what could be a VERY frustrating evening take only 10 minutes.
Griffin needs to have their instructions written more clearly in ENGLISH and have the diagrams on the product match those in the directions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Protection, January 2, 2009

I found these screen protectors to be perfect for the iPod Touch 16 Gig 2nd Generation.

I've used many different screen protectors for PSP, Palm Pilot, Nintendo DS, and many other electronics. Like every other screen protector it is not an accessory you just slap on and it is perfect; screen protectors take time to apply correctly. After carefully cleaning the surface of the iPod I was able to smooth out every bubble and apply this screen protector perfectly. I've read through some other reviews saying they had a weird rainbow effect, I did not have this problem.
*Update* I recently noticed the rainbow effect. It only occurred when I was under fluorescent lighting. I only saw it when the glare was so bad the screen wasn't readable any way. I just tilted the iPod and both the glare and rainbow effect were gone. */Update*

Finger prints are easily wiped off from this protector. It adds a great smooth feel to an already amazing product. There is a nice cutout for the home button. This is static cling protector which means no residue is left over when it is removed.

The cloth that was supplied was the only draw back of this purchase. I found the cloth to be of low quality. To clean my screen I used a cleaning cloth that I use for my glasses. Make sure the surface is dry and streak free before applying.

Five screen protectors for $15 is not bad, a little more expensive than others but worth every penny in my opinion.

I had no trouble at all installing this. Maybe they revised their instructions due to complaints, but mine were pretty clear: remove first film, apply screen protector to iPod, smooth out air bubbles, remove second film, done. Everything was easy except the air bubbles. I managed to get all out except two or three very tiny ones near the center. I finally gave up when I was afraid to apply any further pressure to try and smooth bubbles out, for fear of damaging my screen. Once installed, I didn't notice anything unusual or any glaring defects (other than the tiny remaining bubbles). The rest of the film blended perfectly with my iPod Touch screen. Even the remaining bubbles become virtually invisible when I turn the iPod on. Seems to be a good quality and works fine with my Speck case. I appreciate that it uses static instead of adhesive. My touch screen still seems very responsive with the screen in place. I use it on an iPod Touch 3G 64gb. So far so good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Protect your investment!, May 15, 2009

A must have for any Apple iPod touch 16 GB (1st Generation) or Apple iPod touch 8 GB (2nd Generation) owner. If you are like me and hate the idea of possible scratches, smudges or finger prints on your screen then you have to buy this screen care kit. Like many others have notated on other reviews, the instructions are not worth even looking at. Just read the explanations on the reviews on how to apply the film (thank you to the reviewers who posted them). This film is much easier to apply than others I have tried. I had NO air bubbles or lint. I did not have to be re-adjusting or clipping corners because it hung over the sides of my iPod.

Perfect price for "FIVE" screen covers and no-lint cleaning cloth. Now keep in mind that the human body has oils in their skin and occasionally you have to wipe the screen cover to clean the oily residue. I normally just use a small cloth with a very a tiny amount of mild dish soap and water to wipe it clean since you do not want water drops to fall in the unit itself.

The product is worth 5 stars but since the instructions were not helpful I gave it four stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Fit, October 30, 2008

Initially it wasn't clear if the iTouch G2 screen was the same size as the old G1 (because the overall device does indeed have slightly different dimensions). Further research on other sites showed that the screen size was the same, so I bought this and it was a perfect fit - can't even tell it's there. Definitely a must have for anyone on the go, where scratches are sure to occur.

This works for the 2G touch as well as 1G! I've been using it for a month now and it's great! It's perfectly clear and you can't even tell if its on or not. It's a little hard to put it on and I wasted 2 before I finally got one right. you need to be make sure to do it in a room that is dust free. start from the bottom, line up the Home button and work your way up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just great!, March 8, 2009

By far the best, and easiest of all the screen protectors that I've used. I got it on the first try, with no air bubbles at all. It basically put itself on. It covers the whole screen, even under the home button. Would definetively buy again. Great product-worth the $15.

I had another screen protector on my ipod and it took about 10 minutes for me to get it on and it still has air bubbles all over. I bought having other griffin products and liking them. These are definitely worth it, even at 15 bucks. This protector is a little stiff and very easy to put on. It took 30 seconds to put it on and NO bubbles. Not sure why you would need 5 in a pack but they are great.
