The PowerJolt charges your iPod whether it's playing music or in standby mode, ensuring that you will arrive at your destination with a fully charged iPod.
The Griffin PowerJolt comes with a detachable, high-quality 4-foot USB-to-dock connector cable that can not only charge your iPod when used with the auto power adapter, but can be used for normal syncing and docking operations with your computer. Look at the picture. Its not what you get.,

The picture shows 2 cords. You only get one. The reason you need 2 is because the ipod charger and the itrip fm trnasmiter charger are different. If you are listening on fm radio and you need a charge you will have to stop listening. buy the Griffin 9769 it has 2 cords.

I bought this and another company's DC charger from the Apple store. This one works great. I gave the other one away and bought a second one of these. Compact, easy to plug in and use with my iPhone. I highly recommend this one.
