This review is from: Griffin 9801-TCENTER WiFi TuneCenter Home Media Center for iPod (Electronics)
even though i have been reading all these bad and negative feedback on these ipod tune centers, yet my experience was totally different.
I bought 2 of them, one for me and the other for a friend of mine...and we both live it! The sound quality is fine, not superb, but really good and accessing online radio stations is really cool...all this with a 17$ deal! to me is really worth every penny... i highly recommend this prodcut...especially with that price!

Amazon's Product Description is Wrong (yet again),
By
This review is from: Griffin 9801-TCENTER WiFi TuneCenter Home Media Center for iPod (Electronics)
I submitted the following complaint to Amazon Customer Service regarding this item:
For the second time in 2 months, I have been burned by an inaccurate description of a product on the Amazon Web Site. I wrote to you at the beginning of April regarding a hard drive enclosure. Although you offered me a partial refund, in the past six weeks you have not bothered to correct the error. Now, on this order, your description clearly states that this item is compatible with iPod 3G (in two locations) and all dockable iPods (which would include the iPod3G). I have received the item, opened it, hooked it up to my two 3G iPods only to be greeted by a message that says "Please attach an iPod". So, I visited the Griffin Technology web site and found this FAQ and answer - "Which iPods are supported? The TuneCenter is compatible with iPod Video (or "5th Generation" iPods,) iPod Nano, 4th Generation iPods, and iPod Mini. 3rd Generation iPods are not compatible." In spite of what your product description clearly states, the product is simply not useable with my iPods. Your sloppy work has once again caused me to waste my money and my time. What really bothers me is that I see no effort to correct these types of errors.

Unacceptable Sound and Volume Output,
By
This review is from: Griffin 9801-TCENTER WiFi TuneCenter Home Media Center for iPod (Electronics)
As is the case with all iPod docks, you will most likely be disappointed with the sound quality and volume output that these devices produce. However, it is not so much the device as it is where the technology currently lies at. This dock, which I bought, is basically useless unless you use the iPod's "lossless" sound conversion format. Even then, the volume output on any home theater will approximately be at 50% the level as your CD/DVD player, set-top box, etc. would be. I am running a $25,000 home theater system and still cannot find an acceptable sound quality and volume level. Do not waste your time or money. This is a poor investment unless you can find one in the $30-$50 range - cables included.

I've been waiting months to get my hands on this item and what a disappointment. The menu does not fill the screen on a regular 4:6 TV; there's a bar on the left and the words get cut off on the bottom - and it doesn't even look square. The menu navigation is slow and I couldn't even change any settings. Like I said, very disappointing.

This thing sucks!,

This review is from: Griffin 9801-TCENTER WiFi TuneCenter Home Media Center for iPod (Electronics)
Griffin usually has great products for the Ipod, I bought this only because it was on sale, and it looked like a sweet accessory. First of all, THE REMOTE SUCKS! If it responds AT ALL, it is totally delayed and slow. Also, the menu doesn't even fill widescreen. Too bad.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Griffin 9801-TCENTER WiFi TuneCenter Home Media Center for iPod (Electronics)
I would give ZERO start as rating if I could. This is my FIRST bad review ever in my 10 years of internet shopping. 1st, I won't say the product is junk, at least, you can't complain buying a iPod charger for $4.99. Don't expect to have decent sound quality with A/V cable. The main reason for my purchase was the internet radio. I expected to listen radio all over the world like few other products. However,it is just a joke. The directory is outdated and mess; the names on the directory list are meaningless; a lot of radio stations were down; no feature to update the list. I just don't understand how could they market the item with $149 as "original price."
2nd, I bought it from a user named "World of Acessories." I believe it was a "promotion" or "clearance" when I bought the item in May. They have this (9801) item priced for $4.99, and the other model without WiFi (9802) priced for $1.99. Since I don't have in house wired, I ordered 3 of the 9801 for around $20 including tax and shipping.) The items arrived 2 weeks later, but they were 9802. I contacted the seller about the wrong shipping and looked for exchange. What I got was an simple 1 line email reply saying 9801 was out of stock and I could do the RMA return. But I need to pay for the shipping. I brought the box down to the Post Office, the shipping cost is close to another $20. Email the seller again, no reply at all. Worst service, very bad experience. Now they are just use as charger. |
