5.0 out of 5 stars Great value versus the Apple OEM Audio Video Cable for your 6G iPod
This cable is compatible with my 6 G 120 GB Apple iPod Classic. I was looking for a cable to hook up into my Auxiliary input for my Acura MDX. This allows me or my family to use the iPod for music or watch the movies I bought for the iPod on our 9" DVD screen in the Crossover Vehicle.

The cable is a bit long for an SUV but probably works fine for a home...

3.0 out of 5 stars Composite NOT Component
Be careful if you are looking for the Component Cable for iPod this is not it the picture is the wrong one. Composite means it has 3 RCA plugs total, 1 video and 2 audio. If you are looking for 3 video and 2 audio keep looking. I sent this back right away.

The cable is a bit long for an SUV but probably works fine for a home stereo/theater setup.

The advantage of this product over the Apple AV Composite cable is that this has a plug to charge your iPod. That is helpful when travelling.

The Components fit well, and so does the dock connector.

For the similar price as an OEM product and the compatibility with the 6G 120 GB iPod Classic, this beats them all.

Highly recommend.

UPDATE:

I have a 3G iPhone and it does not charge the phone; however, I can play the videos through my Aux input in my vehicle.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works, and it's better made than Apples', February 11, 2009

Although still ridiculously expensive, it works as advertised, and it's cheaper than Apples'. It is also more robust than the Apple cables, and it's easy to attach and detach, unlike the poorley designed (but veery pretty!) apple cables. I'll be taking it to England in a few days, and I'm looking forward to using it on a PAL television. If it does not work I'll let you all know!

4.0 out of 5 stars WORKS WITH 5TH GENERATION NANO!!, February 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Griffin Composite ipod to TV cable (Electronics)
I was worried at first since it was not in the description but once I bought this composite (meaning red, white and yellow) cord for my tv, it works great and is compatible with my 5th gen nano. It works just as well if not better than the apple one that costs about $50 so dont waste your money for something that this cable does the same. Very satisfied with the cable, of course if you have an HD TV you would be better off with the COMPONENT cable (red, blue and green), but if you have regular tv or just want standard definition, this cable is the way to go.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work on iphone, January 29, 2010

This is the 3rd variation of a av adapter that i have tried for my iphone. None of them have worked due to software issues. This paticular one actually informed me when i plugged it in that it was not compatible. I am frustrated with Apple and Amazon. Apple for making items not backwards compatible and Amazon for not being specific in this case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for Ipod Nano G6, October 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Griffin Composite ipod to TV cable (Electronics)
I bought this cable after reading reviews on the various cables with some hesitation. I say this because I have the Gen6 Nano (little square) and I could find NOTHING about compatibility of most any cables with the G6. Coupled with some folks having problems with other cables working with G5, I figured I might not get something that worked. But I wanted to have a true "line-out" from my ipod for my home sound system, without dealing with cradles and all that. Well, this cable works like a charm. I also like that it charges my nano as it is playing. I didn't need the video cable (only looking for RCA right and left for stereo) but this cable seemed to fit the bill and it does. Highly recommend if you need a true line level out as opposed to headphone jack outputs.

This is a great cable! I used it for my iPod Touch 2g and my iPhone 3g and it works very well with both. With the iPhone, it says it's not optimized for it, but it still works flawlessly.
It's great quality, the charger is nice, and the sound and video output are good.
If you need an a/v cable for you iPod or iPhone, I highly recommend this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware, April 15, 2009
By
This review is from: Griffin Composite ipod to TV cable (Electronics)
I was tempted by the fact that this is $10 cheaper than Apple's version. I already own Apple's component set and an Apple dock and I thought this would save me some money and add some versatility.

First of all the charger was broken. I have several chargers and made the mistake of only testing the cables with a different charger that was already plugged in. I can't return the product to Amazon since I threw away the packaging. This was my fault for not checking, but I have to tell you it feels really cheap to begin with. Much lower quality than the cables which did impress me.

Second, the cable is NOT compatible with the Apple dock, so forget using a remote control. I primarily bought this for travel purposes since I like to use it as a video player for my daughter hooked up to the Hotel's TV which generally only have composite inputs available. However, it still would have been nice to have the option of bringing my Apple dock and remote.

Given the aforementioned and even if the charger was not broken, I really feel a little cheated. If you don't plan on docking the cable, then it's still a decent deal, but if you have a dock then it is worth the extra money for the Apple version.

1.0 out of 5 stars I was sent the wrong cable, November 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Griffin Composite ipod to TV cable (Electronics)
I was sent the RCA cable instead of the COMPONENT cable. I should have bought the apple product instead. I contacted Amazon and was told I could not return the RCA cable, because electronics are not returnable.
