I purchased mine based on the video review I found on Youtube.
The OtterBox's "Defender" version is ALMOST similar to Griffin Technology's "Survivor" case. I have to say, the Defender does have a nice hard shell screen cover which also acts as a stand for viewing or typing! Besides that, it doesn't come close to the Survivor's features!
The only Cons I found with Survivor are the stand - it feels a bit flimsy, but with careful use, I'm sure it will last and the Charging Port, you can't use your docking station (I don't have a dock, so this does not really bother me at all).
The Pros I liked about the Survivor are:
- Rubberized feel/grip
- Enclosed cover - a protective screen cover that is sealed inside and DOES NOT DEGRADE the touch sensitivity of the iPad 2 screen!
- It covers all the ports such as the Sleep Button, Microphone, Headphone Jack, Volume Switch, Mute/Orientation Lock, Speaker, Charging Port, etc.
Just a side note...After installing the case, it does add weight to your iPad 2 (more muscle than fat - LOL!!). In my opinion, the weight will make you hold/grip your iPad even more.
Shipping was pretty fast! Ordered mine on June 24th and received it the next day (without upgrading the free shipping)!!!
THE BOTTOM LINE:
i HIGHLY recommend it!
remember...if you don't like it, return it!
Cheers!
