The Best Movie Ever, July 18, 2008
This review is from: Griffin and Phoenix (1976) (Import Edition - NTSC format - Region 1 - Playable in North America) (DVD)
This original version is the best. Watched the newer version and was disappointed. Hope the older version becomes available soon. You can't beat it.

A good cry, January 14, 2009
This review is from: Griffin and Phoenix (1976) (Import Edition - NTSC format - Region 1 - Playable in North America) (DVD)
I have loved this movie for 30 years. I copied it from TV but would really rather have a newer DVD.
Two people with terminal illnesses meet in a college class about death and dying and fall in love. They try to make the best of the time they have left and do things they always wanted to do. You are so happy they have found each other and yet sad they don'thave much time together. I loved the emotion and will watch it again and again.

You "HAVE TO" at least see this movie, I recommend purchasing it, July 24, 2011
This review is from: Griffin and Phoenix (1976) (Import Edition - NTSC format - Region 1 - Playable in North America) (DVD)
I purchased this DVD from a site other than Amazon, that has no bearing on my review / experience with the movie itself so am writing a review (lol!)
This is my favorite movie and I have what seems to be a building-full (I have alot of titles is putting it mildly) of good movies. Both Peter Falk and Jill Clayburgh give outstanding performances.
Peter Falk has always been my favorite actor (ever) and is the reason I sought this little-bit-harder-to-find film on DVD and bought it before ever seeing it. I was NOT disappointed. You won't be, either esp if Falk and / or Clayburgh are among your favorite actors
Even though both actors play characters each with terminal illness, it is not a "solely sad/sorrow-filled" film. There are funny parts and fun parts, too
I know I am not sorry purchasing this film before I ever even saw it. To me, best movie ever
