The only thing that turned me off about this otherwise perfect product, is the actual opening of the case. Griffin provides you with a little notch in the corner of the case where you are supposed to insert a small coin and gently twist and *pop* it comes out all willy nilly, uh huh... sure it is. Opening the case is a full blown battle. I tried using a guitar pick to keep from damaging the case and boy, that was like trying to get into Fort Knox with a plush toy. So I tried a dime next, that was a mistake. Any method you use to open the case involving the notch will result in SEVERE gouging of the notch. Minus this imperfection, one of the best cases you could get for an iPod touch

2.0 out of 5 stars so so, February 22, 2008

The think looks real cool, but the auto-brightness is now non working as the case covers up the sensor. I would have thought they could have put a whole over the sensor to allow light in. So now the auto-brightness completely doesn't work. NO GOOD.

Oddly enough, I just read the reviews of this product AFTER purchasing it and putting it on my iPod. And the only reason I came back to it was because I love it so much, I thought I should add my two cents as well.

First off, there are only a handful of first generation iPod touch cases left anywhere. (This alone has sworn me off of being an Apple early adopter ever again.) But the Touch is a necessity for me because it replaced my PDA, I also use it for business, and it's in heavy rotation in my daily life. The only other case I had was the clear plastic one that always broke on me, and when I needed a new one, that's the only one that was available in the Apple store, at $25! When I found this one online, I was just so happy that something other than the flimsy clear plastic one, I got it. And what a surprise when I opened it. The rubber back provided a great, no scratch grip, and the back is usually what gets scratched the most. The protective cover for the screen is practically invisible, unlike so many grayish ones I've seen before. It keeps my screen nice and bright, the way I need it to be, and I haven't experienced any real touch sensitivity issues like some others suggest. To be fair, my Touch is mostly for business (typing e-mails, reading e-mails) and I don't play any games on it.

Another thing I found in other reviews were people stating how hard it was to open. That's a good thing! Easy open cases, like ones I've had for my cell phone, also open easily when they hit the ground, making the point of a case useless. I am glad it does not open easily, and I don't even know why I would need to open it unless it's broke. On top of its overall function, the shiny graphite is great to look at, and fingerprints come off easy with just about anything (I'm using my t-shirt right now). Even still, they give you a buffing cloth too.

Overall, I love the look and feel of this case and highly recommend it to anyone still holding on to a 1G Touch like me. :o)

I bought this case for my son. He loves it but it is very hard to open. So, it does not fit on the docking station of his iHome anymore. He has to charge it with a usb cable to the computer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Was so-so, October 1, 2008
This review is from: Griffin Reflect Case for iPod touch 1G (Chrome) (Electronics)
The case was very bulky and is very sturdy none the less. But the covering attracts fingerprints and smudges. The plastic covering over the screen is not very protective. I got some pocket scuff in underneath it near the Home button. All in all, its ok, but the screen protector makes tapping the screen a little harder. I couldn't play a few games after I got it because it wasn't picking up my touches. I also have noticed that it is always on the highest brightness setting. I would not buy this had i used it for a week before hand.

The title says it all. It's a very nice-looking case, and is simple to use. It even comes with a microfiber cloth and a screen protector. My brother loves it for his iPod touch. Fits all sizes!

The case came in a timely manner. At first we had difficulty getting it to snap together. It didn't seem to fit. Finally, we got it to fit and it has stayed on without problems.

Nice little case... would have liked to have purchased a higher end case like the otterbox for my son since this is his first Ipod... and he is 5..... but there really wasn't a lot available... This was the best I found and it was also a pretty good bargain..
