Griffin Reflective Case for 80/120/160 GB iPod classic 6G (Silver)

I wanted this case for its reflective look, and so far, it's delivered quite well. Unfortunately, it's been scratched a few times, but that's because it's been put into a bag with my keys and cell phone. I don't like however, how the bottom is left completely uncovered, but it makes sense that Griffin designed it to be used with the iPod Dock, so it can't have anything there.

When you install it, be careful not to nick the "cbromed" surface, or get anything inside, or else you'll end up with an imperfect finish. With a black iPod, this case will look amazing, and with a silver iPod, it still looks decent.

I don't know why Amazon can't deliver for 4-6 weeks. I bought one at Best Buy last week for the same price. I love this case. It fits my 160 GB Classic perfectly. The halves stick together well, yet are easy to pry apart. It looks cool. The reflecting coating is on the inside of the front half and does diminish the screen brightness a bit, but it still is easy to see in most rooms at full brightness. The best thing is that the bottom is flush with the bottom of the iPod while still holding it firmly. This means that it will fit in most cradles without needing to remove the case. Most important for me is that it fits in my iHome IH8 clock radio.

This iPod case is very attractive - it's shiny and reflective, and very pretty visually. It's also very thin so it doesn't add bulk, and I really like the rubber-like texture on the back of the case, which provides a nice gripping surface.

My big complaint is that the reflective material is also used on the area that covers the screen. It's a little difficult to see the screen when I'm indoors - if I'm trying to watch a movie on it I end up taking the case off. It's MUCH worse when I'm outside. Peering at the screen outdoors, all I can see is my own annoyed face looking back at me.

It was quite inexpensive, though, and provides good protection, so I'm continuing to use it until I find something I like better.

This unit comes with two backs--"deep" and "shallow." The shallow back fits perfectly on my newly purchased 160 GB Classic iPod Apple iPod classic 160 GB Black (7th Generation) NEWEST MODEL. By doing so, the resulting form factor remains as thin as possible while giving one a good gripping surface and decent protection. Outstanding value and quality appearance.

This is a great case! So great in fact, that the day I received it, I ordered two more. I like to have a backup although I don't think I'm going to need it.

Yes it can get scratched on the inside and then you can see where the metallic finish has been scratched off the plastic but it beats scratching your ipod. Just be careful when you put the ipod in-wipe off all of the lint and/or whatever else might be on the ipod and you are good to go.

If you have to reopen the case, it's not impossible, just be careful not to let the ipod slide around against the metallic inner surface.

Also, it can be difficult to see the screen through the case on a sunny day, Alas, the big fix entails turning up the brightness on the ipod. Problem solved. Oh no-but my battery will run down-it's a NiCad battery-no memory according to Apple so recharge it-big deal. I have not seen a decline in battery performance with the brightness turned up-70% is where mine is set and the screen is totally visible, even on a sunny day in the car.

This case allows the ipod to be docked without removing it as well. I play it at work everyday on a radio with a docking station and never need to take the case off.

It doesn't get hot when the ipod is charging or playing-it just looks hot! If you are going to get one case, this should be the one.

The viewer screen plays beautifully through the reflective case and the overall appearance is a sleek chrome finish. Works kind of like the mirrored sunglasses without the dark tint. Although, I did have to increase the iPod brightness all the way to see the screen in the day light, but this is not an issue or drawback. The case is made to the exact size of the iPod--no looseness or rattling whatsoever. Almost like a second skin. Case is very durable considering I've already dropped the thing twice on hard concrete with little or no scarring. Case easily snaps on. If you need to remove case, the case has a small insert slot on bottom right corner to easily separate the case halves. I've found that the case won't come off without using the slot--big plus for incidents of dropping. I haven't tried inserting the iPod with case into a docking station because I don't use one. Not sure if both will fit, but I suspect I will have to remove the case. Would definitely buy again.

I will keep this short and sweet. Just received this case and put it on my iPod Classic 6th or 7th gen 160GB (2009 & above thin version, I know there is a thin and thick version of the 160gb). Case fits perfectly and was very easy to install. To save you from having to research anymore, this case comes with two of the back pieces, one if you have the thin 160gb and one if you have the thick 160gb, plus all the other versions it says it fits. Looks great (just turn up the brightness!) and I couldn't be happier with it. Buy now!

Everybody knows that iPods are just plain neat, but this case amps that factor up just a bit. When turned off, the faceplate is blank, just polished metal looking back at you. But then when the iPod is activated, suddenly the screen "magically" shines through it.

Everybody wants a case for their iPod to keep it from getting scratched up. Why not get one like this? It's cheap, effective, and cool.

My ONE complaint with it, and it's minor, is that the bottom is too thick for me to dock my iPod on a speaker player I had for my previous iPod (may it rest in peace). so if I want to use that, I have to take it out of the case. Minor quibble. Overall, great product.

Fit is absolutely perfect, different back for the 80 or 160 gb models. Love the rubberized back, good grip. Indoor and nighttime the display shows up great, but bright daylight situations can pretty much make the display useless. In these situations the backlight in the ipod doesn't overcome the reflection of the shiny case.
Still recommended.

This protective case product for the Ipod Classic by Griffen was satisfactory, in my opinion. The design and appearance is futuristic and flashy, great for the ladies and/or gentlemen as it doubles as a mirror. Also there is an opening for the sync and charge port. However the cases overall toughness was unsatisfactory, specifically the back shell. The first time I dropped this product with my 160 gb Ipod classic incased, the back shell cracked all the way up the middle. The front shell seems to be far tougher, but does scratch easily considering it is a mirror.
