5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cable for Frequent Use
I got this cable after having gone through 3 others within a short period of time. So far this one has lasted longer than the any of the other three have. I use this in my car for listening to my iPod Touch, so it's constantly being plugged and un-plugged. The sound is good. The cable is fairly thick and sturdy so it hasn't shorted out like the others did...

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't recommend for Motorola Droid
Bought for Motorola Droid because company's website stated it was compatible for this phone. I've had problems since day 1 of sound playing, then cutting out (as if plug came out of phone, but it doesn't). I have to twist and push on the end plugged into phone to get it to produce sound through car speakers again, only to experience same issue a few minutes later. Too...

Overall a great cable for use in the car.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what you need - nothing you don't, March 16, 2009
This review is from: 3.5MM Stereo Audio Cable (Electronics)
I just got a new (used) car and was delighted to find an auxiliary jack in the stereo! I immediately went online to try to find an appropriate cable so I could play my ipod in the car. I already have one of those cables that allow you to "broadcast" over an FM radio station, but frankly, you're *always* listening to static with your tunes using those.
Having purchased another Griffin product some months ago, I was quite excited to see that they offered exactly what I was looking for. This cable isn't a million feet long (and who needs that really? you end up having to find a way to coil everything you're not using out of the way) but the "spring-coil" design allows it to stretch a bit if necessary. The plugs are secure and you get perfect sound. An EXCELLENT purchase for an excellent price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great item for use with Zune HD, September 30, 2010
This review is from: 3.5MM Stereo Audio Cable (Electronics)
I bought this cable so I could listen to my Zune HD 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black) in my car. It works perfectly and the sound quality is excellent. The coiled design makes this cable very compact; I am able to store it along with my Zune in a small drawstring pouch without it becoming tangled. If you're expecting the cable to uncoil to the full 72", you'll probably be disappointed. I can't really imagine it uncoiling all the way without the jack(s) being pulled out from one or both ends. However, I only need the cable to reach from the dashboard to the driver/front passenger seats so the length of the cable is not an issue for me.

Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It serves its purpose and provides a good connection and excellent sound quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great In Car Solution For IPod, August 5, 2010

Works well plugging your IPod into the aux outlet to your cars radio head unit. The coiled wire construction gives the length you need without stringing wire all over the place.
The plugs themselves are molded to the wire ends assuring good performance and durability. I use it daily, plugging and unplugging frequently and it shows no signs of wear or fatigue and it continues to put the music right where it belongs. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that I think the price mark is a tiny bit pricey. Other than that...It's great !

Too much of a headache and will search for a replacement. My son's ITouch works fine with it though. Don't recommend getting for anything but IPod devices.

Works great for the car when I used to be untangling cell phone and gps chargers from my audio cable. This one has the coils just like your chargers and eliminates the mess.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Support, March 15, 2011

I also received a cable without the metal extensions as shown in the photo, but Griffin support more than made up for it. I emailed them that I had received the wrong cable and they sent another out immediately. The second cable was the same as the first so after another email, they sent the correct cable with 2 day delivery. Now not only do I have the new cable I originally wanted, I have 2 others to use with MP3 players or other devices. Thank you Griffin Support!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Griffin coiled audio cable, March 9, 2011

Top quailty! I was reluctant to spend a lot of money on a single audio cable simply because I already had about 8 or 9 standard cables (budget & premium) of various lengths and they all worked well. But when I came across the Griffin at Amazon it seemed to fit the bill, albeit at a price ($10 shipping included). I had just installed auxillary audio jacks for my mp3/ipod player in my 07 accord and 03 dodge truck, I wanted to to add a clean, neat look for my applications rather than have loose cables dangling around. This cable is high quality material, at first touch you know you got your money's worth now if it only works as good as it feels.......you bet it does, no static and clean stereo sound! I transfer from car to car to house at least 4-5 times a week and the cable is performing flawlessly, the coil springback is firm and taunt not hard and brittle. Granted I've only had it for a couple of months now but for the time being I'm 100% satisfied and will be getting another one soon. Highly recommended for applications that will benefit from a finished look, also this is not some funky gimmicky gadget, you will truly appreciate the fit and function! In resting state cable is about 13" and can easily expand to 36" or more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, BUT..., February 13, 2011
This review is from: 3.5MM Stereo Audio Cable (Electronics)
The cable is coiled for ease of use and storage. Since this is both the first mp3 device I've ever owned, and the first vehicle I've owned where I can use an mp3 player through my vehicle's audio AUX feature, the sound quality is fine as far as I can tell. Although a CD seems a smidge better.
The only problems I found concerning the cable are:
1) The length. The AUX port in my vehicle is near the bottom of my center console, which is deep, and there isn't much cord left to maneuver the mp3 player easily. This is a concern because the tension placed on the jacks by pulling on the cord may damage both the vehicle and device ports. Also, since I live in CA, everything has to be "hands free" and I can't change music selections unless I hover over the console to reduce cord tension. This makes changing music on the player impossible, if not dangerous, while driving unless done by a passenger.
2) My device is actually the iPhone (which is in a case to protect it) and the housing around the jack itself is so wide that the jack is unable to have a flush insertion into the phone's port unless the case around the phone is removed. This eliminates convenience altogether. I don't want to break the case by constantly taking it apart, I don't want to leave the phone in the car while running errands to avoid breaking the case, and I don't want the phone to be damaged if it were to fall without it's case on.
So the cost of time to find a cord long enough with jack housing thin enough is worth avoiding the cost of repairing/replacing the phone and/or vehicle port, and eliminating the danger to myself and others so I can change my music safely while driving.

This product could be improved by making the cord twice the length and the plastic housing around the base of the jack thin. This way it could easily create a flush insertion when using a device that is enclosed in a case while leaving the plastic at the cable as it is now for easy removal.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work with iPhone 4 bumper, December 21, 2010
This review is from: 3.5MM Stereo Audio Cable (Electronics)
The item sent by Amazon doesn't look like the photo, it does not have the extended metal on the connectors to work with the recessed audio jack when using the iPhone 4 bumper.
