Works but not durable,

I have had this unit for 6 months. The first few months it seemed to stand pretty well. But lately the tape starts producing noticible noise from its rotor. By adjusting the rubber belt in the tape the sound may go away for a short period of time. Eventually, the noise becomes louder and more frequent, and the music starts to fade in and out!

Saw this great price and thought I should try it especially since I have other Griffin products I am happy with. First impression was good as it had a decent length cord and worked flawlessly with all my "i" devices in the car. After a couple months, the sound was cutting out on the left side. At first I thought it was my car but wiggled the cable by the headphone jack and discovered the wire had been damaged somehow. Now I am the kind of person that really tries to take care of my gear and not once did I yank the cable or jack. I would expect cable fatigue in a few years but not in such a short amount of time.

Worked ok for the first while, then it started deteriorating quickly. Sound quality dropped off, and the annoying squeaking while playing gets old pretty quick.
